I know that. Not throwing on Eboue was the mistake.
Well, aye, but if Eboue had come and sent off after 10 mins then he'd be castigated for throwing him in and not putting Griffiths on. We were always going to drop points at some point and trying to pin it down to substitutions made is harsh.
If that was the worry we should have had a midfielder other than our newest recruit available to play a part yesterday. Otherwise I agree that it's harsh. Lessons learned but nothing major lost, let's use this frustration to finish the season well.

When Armstrong went off he could have brought on Simunovic and just seen the game out. We used that tactic against Beer Sheva and one or two other games early in the season and it helped get us over the line.
I think Rodgers probably thought attack was the best form of defence. If, by bringing Griffiths on, we had started to get more possession in their half and made the Sevco full backs more reluctant to get forward, it may have worked.
It may have worked but we all knew that it was gambling, there was just far too many attack minded players and it very rarely works. Bold move but I'd rather not see that again from a winning position.

Got it wrong yesterday.

When Bitton and Armstrong had to go off, I thought to myself, we could be doing with Eboues dig in the middle of the park, not another striker on the pitch.

McGregor did play well when he came on but we were effing powder puff in the middle of the park for the first 30 and last 30.

Edit - just realised its been covered above.

Personally I'd have put Eboue on, but if Griffiths comes on and scores then Rodgers is a tactical genius again. It just didn't come off this time. With the rest of the decisions that Rodgers has made and got spot on I think we can forgive him this one.

It's perfectly obviously that brother Madden had left his red cards in the dressing room, so I can't understand why people think Kouassi would have been red carded.

Only a perfectly executed tackle by Clint Hill prevented Griff from scoring :bawman:

it's hard to be too critical of his decision to put on LG. If we get the pen and win the game he would be hailed as a genius.

Madden effed us - not Brendan.

Lot of talk about how Eboue ought to have been the right sub yesterday. We've not seen anything of him yet so don't really know what people are basing it on.

BR is seeing him in training every day and will have an idea of what he offers.

We were winning 1-0 so didn't need to chase the game. We had one midfielder left on the bench when Armstrong went off injured. Rodgers chose to put Griffiths on. This meant we surrendered the midfield and had a high number of players who can't defend - McGregor, Roberts, Griffiths and Sinclair (his defending at their goal was woeful)- playing for the last twenty minutes.

The huns got the upper hand and, I'm afraid, their goal was coming.

More concerning is we have bought a player who can't be trusted to play 10 mins before getting sent off, what was the point in buying him?

Bitton get's injured and subbed at half time....Eboue is a like for like change....I'd have gone with Eboue. However, Brendan knows best.

We were fine after that change, the mistake was bringing Griffiths on instead of Eboue.

I just think we'd have been finer.....Eboue for Bitton, McGregor for Armstrong and then Griff for Forrest or Sinclair. But hindsight is a wonderful thing!

We drew and a lot conspired against us, however we are in March, won the league cup, about to win the league, semi final of the Scottish and guaranteed a shot at next years CL. Oh and we qualified for last years group stages and just posted excellent financial results.

Think the manager is doing very well.

Don't think anyone said otherwise.

Made a mistake yesterday though.
