Bad day at the office but I'm confident Rodgers and his backroom team will analyse today's game extensively, and we'll see a massive improvement for Hampden.
Hampden :twitch:
At this stage one of the worse places we can play is at home with that awful pitch. Hampden should serve us better.

I wish the semi final was next week. Huns celebrations of a draw are laughable but also a pain in the arse.
They celebrated the draw last April
2-2 after the 90 was the point.

He got the armstrong one wrong today. The substitute had to be like for like. Throwing a player like Griffiths on when he wasn't needed was honking.

But he's got about 98% of his subs right. Just thought he misread that one today really badly.
Armstrong has an injury
I know that. Not throwing on Eboue was the mistake.

Stranchanesque gameplan today. Long ball against a team who gives up more space in the 10 position than any team in the league.

The failure to exploit the space gifted to us was an embarrassment. Hands in pockets or sat on the bench when the team was a effing shambles. Eboue on the bench but couldn't be trusted to come on when two MF down. Subs were a joke.

But aye that pitch is crap eh?
With that avatar you've got to be effin at it.

Well, aye, but if Eboue had come and sent off after 10 mins then he'd be castigated for throwing him in and not putting Griffiths on. We were always going to drop points at some point and trying to pin it down to substitutions made is harsh.

I can't understand why, if he needed to sub Armstrong because of an injury, BR decided to make an attacking change when we're 1-0 up but playing poorly. Eboue looks like a player who will pick up fouls but the gameplan should have been to keep the lead rather than look for another goal.

Why in Earth would eboue come on and be red carded within 10 minutes?

Where has this hatchet man reputation came from? Rodgers misjudged the flow of the game. He made an attacking sub when there was no need to.

He's got loads of these right this season and has been rightly lauded for it. Yesterday he was wrong.

He should & hopefully will be hurting after that yesterday & take a long look at what went wrong, not only with player's performances, but also with his own.
If this was the shakeup he felt they needed, then use it properly - get different tactics & players used more often & work out how to close out games - especially in prep of the CL qualifiers.
A blip & one that we'll get over & come back stronger from.

It's worth pointing out that plenty of folk in the pre-match thread wanted Griffiths to start in that position.

I'd have gone for Eboue myself (or, as someone already pointed out, have had Henderson on the bench instead) to shore things up as we were starting to look sloppy by then, but I can understand why Rodgers wanted to bring Griffiths on as he played well there last week and a second goal would have finished them off - no way were they ever going to score twice.

We'll no doubt see a few changes to the team this weekend but more importantly Brendan needs to come up with a tactical response to teams disrupting our play like Sevco did. Obviously there's not much that can be done about a cheating referee but Murty still set them out to frustrate us and they did that well enough even without Madden's help.

Until yesterday, Rodgers hadn't put a foot wrong since Gibraltar so I'm not going to hammer him for one or two questionable decisions. Would like to see him freshen the team up over the next few weeks though with Gamboa, Jozo and Eboue all given chances to show what they can do.

When Armstrong went off he could have brought on Simunovic and just seen the game out. We used that tactic against Beer Sheva and one or two other games early in the season and it helped get us over the line.

Eboue is not afraid to sort things out - In the heat of the game I could see why with that Madden cant at his hun loving best Rodgers didn't put him on but I think he did make a mistake and called it wrong on that one.

To be fair we weren't under the same kind of pressure yesterday. In terms of winning the league it was also meaningless.

Didn't agree with putting Griffiths on for Armstrong but we had it in us to score another goal at least. I'd rather we had put someone like Eboue into midfield to make us more solid there.

I think Rodgers probably thought attack was the best form of defence. If, by bringing Griffiths on, we had started to get more possession in their half and made the Sevco full backs more reluctant to get forward, it may have worked.

Understand his thinking behind the substitution but thought he may have seen it wasn't working within five minutes and dropped either Griffiths or dembele ten yards deeper which would have given brown and mcgregor less space to cover and a link up option between middle and front
