Ambrose added: “I would say Brendan Rodgers is a genius. That’s the only word I can use.

“Why? Because he really knows football. He’s transformed the boys.

“We had the same players from last season and he’s worked some miracle. I have to say thanks for what he said about me.

“Every time I saw him on the pitch, or walked with him at the training ground, I learned so many things.

“Not playing has been difficult, but at the same time it’s been great.

“I used the opportunity to work on myself, and I have learned more from the gaffer and his coaching staff.

“I never missed a training session. I have always been in there working hard.

“I never get angry. This is life and we have to learn. I have always been happy since I was born.

“I never doubted I could come back and be stronger, and play better than I did before.”

even efe and ciftci have been praising rodgers. quite unusual for players who have been frozen out to still be so complimentary about the manager and cant remember anyone at all moaning about not being involved?

This is the 2013/14 Brendan that I effing loved. Feared we'd got the Brent of 14/15 but have we eff, he's got the baws out again. Brilliant this. Cheers Brendan.

And there was me thinking we had the 2016/17 Celtic Brendan.

He is a god.
He's not.

He's a very very good football manager being given total control of the football side of Celtic, the first to have such control in a long time.

Amazing what happens when we show a bit ambition and spend money on the most important role at the club.

I don't think he actually thought he was a god. Thanks for debunking though, Richard.

Aside from the managerial ambition Brendan has for Celtic....and that's clearly big, European....I've got the ever growing sense that Brendan has fallen in love with oor club and support, as much as we have fallen in love with him. :)

  Dear effing God. Yes, there were two Brendan Rodgers. That's two. Two of the same guy. Remarkable. The one who was a breath of fresh air at Liverpool who took them to within a hair's breadth of the title. A coach Luis Suarez still says he is the best he is ever worked for. And the other one. The one who, a year later, suddenly became the most ridiculed on the planet - someone who talked a better game than he coached. My god, you are right. Let's praise the lord we got the Brendan of 13/14 and not the 'Brent' of a year later. The imposter who overseen the worst result in Celtic's history against and refused to say it was an embarassment. Thank you, Brent. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - you got your stones out again. From this day forward I contest you are no longer Brent. You, sir, are a genius again.

I never really took to him at Liverpool.

Didn't fancy him as our manager.

Feck me was I wrong... I think he possibly could be the love of my life

Just listened to the CU podcast, including BR's words about Efe.

It is a hell of a thing to have, to have players speak about you like that when they aren't in the team, and it is obviously based on something which is of itself not exclusive to football-having respect for people as individuals. Something for everybody to think about when we are criticising players or indeed having a go at each other on this forum. It would seem that his philosophy of being the best you can be isn't just about football, it's about you treat other people. It fits with what I and I think many of us want our club to be about, and at our best-Palestine collection etc.-that's exactly what we are. He gets it completely.

Tremendous to have him and his team at the club. On the football side the interchange before Armstrong's free kick the other night is a microcosm of our season. CD really does get an assist for that goal. When they talk about finding the extra small percentages to get better, that was it.

Great times.
