If a new pitch is as crucial to him as it appears it should be done and that's that.

Seems to be as fundamental to him as getting the right player to make us tick.

If he's a man of small percentages making a big difference then this is something that's going to improve every one of our players when it comes to implementing his system and ideas.

We've already seen the remarkable difference that these small percentages can make with players.

If there's any reluctance from above to get it done it should be dealt with. The guy has come in and is happy to work within financial constraints (building a team to compete in Europe ) and has made us a fortune.

Get him his feckin pitch!

Good article, that`s where a quality reputation gets you, no moonbeams, just a `look at this guy and what he can do for you if you work hard`.

As for the pitch, he wants us to be professional at every level. Other than some players and backroom staff the two things he has asked of the club to look at are the indoor pitch at Lennoxtown and our playing surface, you can`t have a strategy and footballing philosophy if your basic tools aren`t there.

He may be getting irked by it but to me it`s just another example of his professionalism and thoroughgness, he isn`t accepting second rate.

Don't think he is getting frustrated, as he would know the summer is when we will change the pitch. After the Huns game we have two away games with the Scotland game in between so might be a quick fix for the remainder of the season.

You'd like to think so, but then again, the CEO is all about the bottom line.

He was brought on board, back in the day, with a remit to slash costs, and did so to great effect, whilst simultaneously slashing the quality we were paying to support.

He's currently undergoing a bit of a culture shock, one would imagine, having gone from a pair of pet poodles in Lenny and Ronnie, to having a proper manager who wants to call the shots :)
Furthermore, BR would appear to have the backing of our Bajan bathing billionaire, and seems to be playing a pretty good deck, in dealing with the power-struggle which will. to greater or lesser a degree, be going on behind the scenes, due to all of the above.

As Connolly's Rhebels suggests, we can only hope that Splob's personal bottom line is not interfering too much in his judgement/action.
The last transfer window was undoubtedly limp and the upcoming activity before the next CL campaign should define more clearly where the power truly lies.
My thoughts too

Surely the pitch being done to how Brendan would like is only adding value anyway?

The initial outlay maybe £2 mil but the long term benefits must outweigh this cost so this should be done. Same with an indoor pitch at Lennoxtown, again its added value.

Is there any chance we're being so public about this to put pressure on those who laid the current pitch to claw back some dough?
The relaying of the pitch after the Commonwealth Games was a rush job as the season had already started. It was never gonna last as long as if it had been done straight after the season finished and it was given the proper time needed to settle.
What is the proper time needed for a pitch to settle?
How much time do we have between our last game at Celtic park this season and next?
As we will have won the title by the time of the split could we ask for our 2 or 3 home games to be at the start of the 5 and so get another couple of weeks or will the SPFL likely want our last home game to be the last one for the title presentation?
I forgot about the Henrik's Heroes vs Lubo's Legends match which will mean that the pitch isn't getting ripped up in May!

We now have the cash to finish everything that is required for Lennoxtown and Celtic Park and it would be a disgrace if we didn't.

Lennoxtown

Full size indoor pitch.

Any new equipment the medical team need.

The access road we need to build.

Celtic Park

Visitors Centre (including toilet/shower blocks for fans traveling from Ireland and other faraway spots)

Tarmacing the car parks.

Leveling the walkways leading up to the park

for examples

They can lay the new pitch in about a week, giving it about 5 or 6 weeks to settle in

A couple of months back, one of the few huns in my work was talking about how they would catch up with us by next season.

Today he admitted we were now dust on the horizon and how impressed he is by Brendan

Fair effs. Must be one of those lesser-spotted, partially self-aware huns.

We can't all be in Wilde mode all the time. The attempt meant more than the execution.

Yes.

I think Brendan will get a few players each season to bolster his first 11 and improve us, but do get the feeling we will be relying heavily on his coaching abilities as well. Given the progress so far, that is a positive.

If we are able to move forward on all fronts at the same time, we absolutely should.

In a word, Yes! We can do both or do you seriously think we will sign players worth £30m this summer and add about £10m to the annual wage bill?
