Is Jim Mcguiness still working for the club?
Yep, he has been doing his coaching badges and is about to go for his A license I think.

Other than Chris Davies, did Rodgers bring a lot more of his own people to Celtic when he joined in terms of coaches, scouts, fitness advisers etc? I know Deila supposedly had a troupe of Norwegian coaches loitering about but not clear exactly what staff came with Rodgers if any? ta.
He's still piecing staff together but so far he has made a few changes:

Brought back Tim Williamson in place of Grete Homstol
Brought in Glenn Driscoll(ex liverpool and chelsea) to replace Bard Homstol
Brought in Jack Nayler( ex PSG & Madrid) to replace Ian Coll
He's also brough in Stephen Gormal and John McGlynn in as performance analyst's
Rob Naughton (ex liverpool) has replaced Ken Hallsten in the performance team also

He is also looking to bring in Lee Congerton ( ex Chelsea youth coach, Hamburg sporting director and sunderland sporting director) as head of scouting and football development
The ex-Hearts guy?
the very one, likes a shirt and trackies combo

I think much will depend on whether he can keep any team long enough to build European success.

The money down south is at it's craziest, and all it takes is one successful season for us to see even 2nd/3rd tier EPL teams being able to offer large sums, and now the like of VVD, Wanayana and Forster have proven themselves it is less of a gamble.

Next season we will likely be without Roberts and Dembele, and perhaps a few more. We may even need a bigger rebuild than we did at the start of this season if Griffiths is sold on too.

I would love to see him stay for the next 4/5 years, but if he has to rebuild each season because offers arrive that neither Celtic or the player can refuse then progress in Europe will remain inconsistent.

I'd even say it was imperative that we kept Dembele for a full second season regardless. How much further some of our players will think they can develop in the SPL after such a dominant season will remain to be seen.
I think this is a good point, Gonga.

I was surprised by how many folk on here would have been quite happy for Dembele and Gordon to go during the last transfer window.

BR's made it clear from the outset that he's got ambitions in Europe and that his approach is all about consistency and player development.

I hope that progress in the CL will keep the club, the players and the fans focussed enough to keep him here long term.

Anything that keeps him away from the GAA is fine by me.

I hope the Celtic board realise what they have here - not just a very good coach, motivator and tactician but also someone who can make and maintain a real connection with the supporters. This is what gets people to the ground, to buy kits and merchandise, to sign up to Celtic TV, etc. They've managed to secure a man who's as good and natural a fit with Celtic as any I've known in my lifetime. He loves the Club and it should love him back and give him all the support and backing he needs. It'd be unforgivable for them to balls it up this time.
Spot on

BR is talking like he intends to be here for a few years. If that's how it works out, there is every likelihood he'll be instrumental in our best players staying longer at the club than they would do under a different manager.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers feels sorry for under-fire Rangers manager Mark Warburton, goes the headline.

Rodgers: "I have empathy for every manager."

Desperate stuff. Just desperate.

Chris Davies was pretty clear that they're here for the long haul in his PC last week. They'll be here for us winning 10IAR.
That will depend on Brendan being backed but it is a strong possibility - 3 years is on the cards and from there if we have 8 titles then hopefully he will stay for the 10.

Fwiw Money speaks but it is not his God - He has admitted he was offered Premiership jobs (plural) at more dosh before taking the Celtic Manager's job and knocked them back.

I am hoping five years but let's back him and enjoy it whilst he is here.
I think for too long we've been fed the EPL is everything by the media so we just expect to lose our best assets, for the first time since MON I don't see us losing anyone we don't want to lose for years to come. 5 years minimum is my guess, but by that stage he'll have left the club well set up to carry on his work, like Jesus did.
When looking back at MON era, look at the state the big clubs were in.

Arsenal & United jobs were off the table due to Wenger & Ferguson winning the last 8 league titles between them.

Liverpool took the current La Liga champions manager when replacing Houllier.

Chelsea upgraded Ranrei with the European Cup holder, Mourinho.

The only top jobs in England at that time were Leeds & Newcastle (in MON Last season), did he not renege on a deal to go to Leeds in the Seville year?

I truly believe Desmond, Lawell and the board have learned the lesson of the Deila episode. If Brendan is given the backing to really achieve in Europe this will keep him here for a good few years. It's inevitable that if the club does well in Europe the EPL big boys will come knocking. But right now there exists the potential to build a MON type side, 10iar and a good few European runs. Brendan knows that and knows he's already earned the adoration of the support and is clearly loving it here. Hands up who honestly thought we would ever again be talking about Sutton type transfers. I caught the tail end of the Lions, I was there for the The Quality Street Gang, the Centenary Season and the MON years and I'm as excited and as in love with the club as at any time in my life.
