This could be the most important thing the club have done since rebuilding the stadium to be honest. If we can begin to bring through regular talents at a level good enough to play regular first team football for Celtic we'll be competitive and also extremely financially secure. Big Ronny had his head screwed on in that aspect at least.
 The future of the club is tied up in producing continental class players through the youth system. We need proper facilities to do that, especially in the dark, dank Scottish winter.
The fact we don't have this indoor facility already, is a sad reflection on the shortsightedness of those who claim custody :boik: of our club.

It also doesn't reflect well on the beatified (by many on here) figure of the Bunnet, who withdrew his £1m pledge towards the academy, when we the support, didn't pony up as much as he expected, for his remuneration package.

Time to get it done.

Only seems good because he has a far bigger budget than any other team in the country. Just wait till the bears start competing again and you'll have people calling for his head.
Bears ?

Dehumanising fellow huns there. :nono:

read on the hb that we are getting an expensive new pitch in the summer, same kind of hybrid turf like arsenal have

should make a difference as ours has been poor since the commonwealth games
And in addition he is not happy with the size of the Lennoxtown Indoor which Tommy Burns told them was inadequate in the planning stage.

Be interesting to see if they can come up with a way of resolving that.
Did Deila not have the same issue? I seem to remember him saying he would rather they invested in building a bigger indoor pitch over players.

I know people aren't taking this post seriously, but I saw that you lot were in line for a bumper £7k payout from UEFA for your players starring at the Euros.

Between that, the swear jar and the treasures that have fallen down the back of the couch being used to pay off Warburtony and fund a war chest for the new guy (just hope it's not Conte or Pep or even a reinvigorated Wenger) I fear next year will finish up with Rangers getting a win over Ross County and kicking on from there.

If there is anything in the DD story then it is pretty shameful imo. He shouldn't need to be inspired or have crucial decisions made him by some Huns celebrating. He should be striving for the best regardless - not leaving Lawwell to eff up the appointment of Roy Keane before rubber stamping his earmarked number two. The dwindling season tickets, lack of Champions league and poor financial performance should have been enough - eff what the huns think.
I don't think Keane would have done much better than Ronny. The new manager is a mile ahead of either one of them.

Ronny Deila thought the same. He wanted a full-size indoor pitch so that the bad weather could be mitigated. Hopefully we build one now with a some of the CL money.
aye ronny said we were getting it until maribor knocked us out in the qualifiers.

would be good to have that sorted also. should still be renamed the ronny dome

the desmond story is definitely true, one of the hun directors even came out and defended their "overexuberance" which tells you they are guilty.

STEWART Robertson has laughed off claims Rangers are responsible for the appointment of Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

A newspaper article said Dermot Desmond moved for the former Liverpool boss after witnessing “over-the-top” celebrations from the Ibrox board following last month’s Scottish Cup semi-final win for Gers .

He said: “I did see those reports. The Rangers directors were ecstatic at winning.

“However, you have to remember it was a release of four or five years of hard graft trying to get the club out of the hands of the guys who had it.

“It was definitely not grand-standing. Yes, we celebrated, absolutely, we’re only human. It was exuberant celebration, to use the word of the day.”
He's not so much laughed it off as confirmed it

That brief GIRUY will keep him warm I'm sure when they finish 4th and 40 points behind.

Just like the other director whose Christmas message to the support was to say 'bring on the Celtic. We are the peepo,' before getting gubbed 2-1 going on 8 in a game where they 'progressed'.

They're like what Brendan is aiming for with the 'one brain' except the brain they've got is a really thick one, like a second hand Donald Trump brain.

Yup

04/05

European football 3 years in a row after Christmas is very good tbf.

Were we regularly doing that in the 80s still? I know we had a few famous results but not sure if that was par for the course.
No, the Seville season was the first time in 20 odd years we were still in Europe beyond Christmas.

Christmas 2002.
