Delighted and a little surprised that the board pulled it off.

How many weeks until the first qualifier?
7 and a half.

Be a good choice I think

As long as it's Rodgers choice and not a Deila/collins

I'm not a fan of Rodgers himself but it's an excellent appointment. Welcome to Celtic.

Watching an animated backroom staff on the touchline will be an improvement

I hope we appoint a pragmatic assistant to assist Rodgers, and sadly Yogi as about as pragmatic as John Collins.

Also Rodgers should decide his backroom staff, not Lawwell.

I would have no objection to that as long as it wasn't forced on BR.

I'd rather BR chose his own guy though.

John Hughes would be a decent assistant. But I doubt it'd be Rodgers' choice.

In poker terms this is like over betting the pot by about 200% just because you can and watching your short stacked opponents crumble and fold!

Delighted with the appointment.

Great news.

Will be interesting to see how he handles a 15 million budget versus a reported300 million.

We need someone who is basically the exact opposite of John Collins.

Any gossip how we managed to do this with all that contract money he was owed by Liverpool?

I know he's rich regardless but he was due a lot!
He wasn't "owed" the money. Liverpool were just honouring the contract he signed with them, by continuing to pay his salary while he was unemployed. He would rather work than get paid for doing nothing, so Liverpool are off the hook.

Don't really care who is the assistant as long as it's Brendan's choice. If that turns out to be Yogi, then sound.
