compare listening to brendan with moyes

Quote:

Moyes: “I think I’d be kidding you on if I told you that the players we’re going to bring in in January will make a big difference,” said the Sunderland boss.

“First of all, we probably couldn’t get that level of player. Secondly, we probably wouldn’t have the finances to do that. I think to suggest that the players we’ll be bringing in will make a big difference wouldn’t be correct.

i find listening to him depressing nevermind how the sunderland fans must feel
I have little idea why he took the Sunderland job...or why Sunderland gave him the job. I'm just happy he isny here sharing his negativity.

According to the BBC Gossip page BR is not happy with the scheduling of the Scotland v England World Cup qualifier in June as any Celtic player involved will have virtually no close season. No shampoo sherlock! I've been banging on about this for years. To have designated international dates in June is a feckin joke (outwith World Cup and Euro tournaments obviously) There are plenty of free international dates during the season to play this tie. Just look at the number of friendlies England play during the season (Scotland traditionally play far less) - dates that could have been used to play that game or any other game scheduled late May/early June.

Correct. Scotland are playing Canada in March. This date should be a competitive fixture.

There was an article I read recently (i'll see if I can dig it out) where it claimed that international friendlies do more harm than good towards a country's FIFA point ranking because of the odd way it was calculated. It gave the examples of Wales and Iceland who played very few friendlies over the previous 3 years and both shot up the rankings in the lead up to Euros and into the WC qualifiers. This was apparently a strategy the teams came up with after studying the numbers.

God knows we don't want to see Scotland pumped anymore than we have to and if it would actually improve the chances of the team being upped a pot by not playing then why waste everyone's time and effort to set up games with Canada and whoever else when the players could undoubtedly do with some time to relax in March? They'll have just had a big title winning party after all.

Glad that the players going out on loan seem to be doing well. Taking the attitude Rodgers has instilled in them and starring for their respective teams. I have no doubt Christie will do Aberdeen a turn. Must have a belief that they will get a chance on their return.

One of the reasons Switzerland were seeded at Euros and Italy werent.

Italy went and played a meaningless friendly for cash in middle east and it humped their coefficient.

I think there's the answer on why the SFA schedule friendly matches

I think once we have the league tied up you may see BR giving a number of the internationalists a few weeks off in April and that may count towards their close season
