Big chances missed:

- Sinclair vs BMG home
- McGregor vs BMG away
- Dembele vs City away
- GMS vs City away

All similar-ish locations, all missed. Get it sorted Brendan. :ph43r:

Just finished watching a Tommy Burns documentary.

There isn't a doubt in my head that he'd want anyone other than Brendan at the helm

A think most fans were thrilled when he joined us as shown by the welcome he had,but did anyone think he would turn us around so quickly?I certainly didn't.

Not this quickly, no.

I listened to Harry Brady's podcast this morning and this must be the least the third (if not more) time Brendan has had a chat with him.

I love listening to Brendan. The difference he has made in such a short space of time is just amazing.

I love his ability to recognize problems during a game and shrewdly make changes. He is not always going to get it right, but damn is he pretty damn close.

Absolutely love his overall philosophy of the how the game should be played. Has definitely made me a student of the game again.

Me too it's his little subtle changes at halftime. We always start the second half on fire. I think he might just be too clever for the rest of Scottish football at times.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I think we're in for some great times with Brendan Rodgers and really hope he's backed in January. He's shown what he can do in getting the most out of what he's got with limited transfer funds, now let him get his main targets in in January and make the CL qualification a less fraught affair.

No Celtic manager will ever face the circumstances that Martin O'Neill faced when he took over Celtic. He took on a monster and smashed it at the knees.

Every Celtic manager that followed had that advantage created by O'Neill's era, even if sometimes it wasn't used wisely - but most importantly they had started openly cheating to keep up and win their subsequent titles.

If managed correctly Brendan Rodgers could get the chance to build something special at home and in Europe, playing football the Celtic way. Domestically, that's the kind of football that we need to see. In Europe, well, we can only hope to see it, but the way we moved the ball around in four of our six games, and the way we got so much better after our two major setbacks in the groups, shows that we have a top management team and players who trust them.

I think we're going to stack up the trophies and Brendan may well prove to be a manager who wins more, who takes us to 10, and who is ultimately better, but the challenge is different to that faced by O'Neill's Celtic who were, we were told, five years behind being able to compete with Rangers when he walked in the door.

Great days back then, and great times ahead too.
All very true. I think the point I was trying to make is that to be the manager for 10IAR would instantly make you a club legend regardless of what else went on. Stein will forever be primarily known as the manager that won the big cup and BR would be known as the manager that won the 10. (although hopefully he's also the manager that never lost a match against the Huns, took us further in Europe than we've been for 30 years and developed some of the best young talent we've ever had)

MON's achievements were remarkable at the time and without his era maybe the huns wouldn't have imploded and we wouldn't have got back on top. But yeah, this is a chat to have in the international week when there's nothing better to do.
Without getting into a MoN versus BR binary, I think we'd be hard pushed to find ourselves in a better position from which to kick on :)

When MoN came in, he was up agin the hun troglodyte in full-power mode.
O'Neil did wonders that first season against all odds, though backed with the sort of transfer outlay it would appear we can only dream at, now.

MoN, however, never seemed to be too much more than a first-team, man manager, type of coach (though a very effective one at that) and continually rebuilding teams didn't seem to be his strongpoint.

Brendan, on the other hand, seems cut from a different cloth.
It would appear that he is interested in every level of the playing side of our club, and that can only be a good thing.
He is also blessed, with time.

Sevco are a basket-case, and far from the aforementioned hun troglodyte , which gives our manager some breathing space in which to try and fully implement his ideas, into the overall structure of 'Celtic Football Club' © Tommy Burns

If the board (i.e. Desmond) give our manager the tools he requires for the job, then we could be in for a very special era, in our ever illustrious history

Two years ago, I thought he was very full of himself signing Balotelli (a bigger basket case then Sevco) thinking he could turn him around.

Having seem what he has done with Broonie, Forrest and to an extent Amstrong and Rogic, I think that failing now reflects badly on Balotelli rather than Brendan.

Or reflects the fact that he didn't sign the boy and was effectively given him by the transfer committee

There is a fundamental difference that is tangible at the club and the feeling among the support - under Ronnie people could not see the club moving forward but under Brendan we are clearly on an upward trajectory.

our record really is brilliant this season when you take into account we have played 12 european games and won the cup in 4 games alongside the league form.

we have only played 5 home league games out of 14 aswell. the next 9 of our 12 league fixtures are at home :o

the title could be finalised by march
