Anyone else heard the Gerrard rumours? :suspect:
Nay from me - keep playing Armstrong in the centre 2 and put Gerrards wages towards a younger midfielder in the summer transfer window (McCarthy maybe? )

He's retiring, is he not?
A lot of folk seem pretty certain he's coming here on a short term deal in January.

Probably just the usual online chat. Maybe he fancies winning a league title.

makes absolutely no sense at all. League will be won, League Cup won ( or lost), and we'll be out of Europe.
Why would we sign an old guy who gave up playing a year ago on a short term deal?

If he was a couple of years younger I'd be happy enough to bring him in on an 18-month contract. He's 36 though and even if he's not quite done then he's not far off it.

If he wants to come to us to as part of him doing his coaching badges I'd have no complaints.

Would be funny to see a midfield of Brown and Gerrard take on Holt and Halliday tbf.

2.30 was Bertie Auld's nickname: Wee Bertie, 2.30
Shouldn't it have been 3:30 for Wee Bertie.

1 more hour and it rhymes better.
2:30 because that's when he finished his shift at his Mum's shop.

Heard them in the summer...why would they resurface now? :ponder:

EDIT: I see he's leaving the MLS. Surely Klopp will give him a contract in his backroom?
You'd have to imagine so.

Liverpool fans collectively sigh with relief that the rumour is not him going back there.

Gerrard would walk into our midfield just now.

Would prefer a younger, long term CM coming in though. Still think McCarthy fits the bill perfectly.

Bitton needs hunted and the sooner the better while we can still get 2 or 3 million for him.

Gerrard's wages, Bitton's wages/transfer fee = well over £5m no?
Rodgers has shown he can get value in that market.
Keep Armstrong for squad backup & see how he develops - winner, winner.

Actually, I disagree.

Our midfield options right now are Broony, Bitton, Armstrong and McGregor. We've more or less established that McGregor isn't good enough, and Bitton and Armstrong need upgraded. Broony, on the other hand still has that hip problem lingering in the background.

Gerrard would be excellent cover and his experience would be absolutely invaluable to the younger heads in the team.
