The board should back him with as much money as they can!
McCarthy and Snodgrass in January to start off with
Snodgrass isn't good enough.
Yup. We need better than Snodgrass for Europe.

We will not have a manager of Brendans ilk for another 30 odd years imo. It's a once in a lifetime thing. MO was a great capture at the time but Brendan is a fantastic manager and will certainly leave us in a few years and go back to the top of the English game.

I'm so glad he was born and raised a Celtic mad fan, as there is no other reason for a manager of his caliber to drop down a level to the SPL.

As I said in previous threads, I'd give the guy a lifetime contract if I could but I'm realistic and I know he is only wanting to take us along a couple of years, while managing the team he supports. Hopefully the next 2/3 years with him is the best I have seen from any Celtic side in my lifetime.
IF he gets to 8 and IF he's still getting backed by the board and IF that backing gets last 16 cl and maybe a last 8  I think he will stick around for at least another 2.

Snodgrass has no pace and injury problems.
Would be a complete waste of money.

Agreed. If Snodgrass wasn't a tim no-one would be interested in him.

I'd like us to try get Ki back. He'd be some player in this team.

A keeper, a couple of holding midfielders and a playmaker and watch us go. We have a solid foundation at the back and good going forward. We badly need to improve the midfield.

Ki is a great player but I just find hes wasted in Scotland, some games passed him by, because he didnt get the time on the ball that the EPL gives him. In saying that the EPL has improved him, so he may still be better option than Biton.

Personally I would rather a protector type in the midfield.

The board need to back Rodgers with several signings to make an immediate impact in the vein of Dembele, Sinclair and Toure.

Particularly a quality central defensive midfielder, an absolute must.

I have completed trust in Brendan in the transfer window. I was sceptical when he brought Sinclair in. Wasn't sure he was up to it and that he just followed Rodgers about. How wrong I was.

He knows we lack quality in the midfield position beside Brown. I'm very eager to see who he brings in here. Refreshing that he is always on the lookout for quality. It's quite exciting.

BACK THIS MAN CELTIC

Brendan
Basically where we go from here depends on this ^^^^

There is no way Rodgers is managing a team in the CL group stages and is expecting to take it onto the next level with the likes of McGregor,Henderson and even Armstrong and a 50 minute Rogic in his midfield squad.

The area needing attention first and foremost is there for anyone to see.

You can see the difference quality makes from the signings to the manager being able to lift performances of players who had been binned by many on here.

It hasn't cost us that much in relative terms and whatever we've spent we've at least trebled it in income.

That was a great result and performance overall, not least the circumstances prior to the game, having been played off the park two weeks ago and a defeat meaning we were in for two dead rubbers. Added to that the amount of injuries in the last few days, the makeshift defence, the weak bench and going in at half time unlucky to be behind... Great performance. He's building a team with bottle. No doubt it'll be a bumpy road but genuinely you can look at defeats and say the team and management have learned from it, as opposed to previous managers saying it every couple of weeks with no noticeable sign of improvement.

Rodgers doesn't seem the type to be making unreasonable demands of the board but nor does he suffer fools gladly. Back him, trust him to deliver and be straight with him and he'll be here to move Celtic forward in a way that we haven't seen for a long time.

He knows what he is doing, he knows what we need at our level and he knows how to take the club forward. I am happy with our defence and forward line - midfield is the area he knows he has to sort.

Great post.

We have come very far in such a short space of time.

2 or 3 more top quality players, a bit of luck in the draw & we could qualify next season.

Personally I would rather a protector type in the midfield.
I'm already assuming McCarthy is a done deal.

That would be brilliant, I've a feeling we'll sign Roberts at the end of the season too.

Loved him from the moment we got him.

Oozes confidence and this has transmitted to the team.

He needs backed now. The money is there plus get rid of 6/7 players who are surplus. Wages are left from them and any fees goes straight to team (if we get anything granted).

BR best since O’Neill, everything he does, he does well. There will be bumps in the road but that’s football however transformation at club and playing side especially is literally amazing.

Boyata , Ambrose, Commons, Bitton , McGregor , Ciftci, Allan, Fasan. That’s a start.
