It may turn out that MON, Strachan and Lennon are more successful than BR and this is not meant as any kind of disrespect towards them but Brendan is this first manager since Tommy to have us really playing the Glasgow Celtic way.

Brendan

Turns duds into players.

Turns wimps into warriors.

Breathes life back into legs and lungs that looked gone.

Substitutions that take the breath away.

Has us all looking forward to watching the team again.

What a man.

Scary to think how much there is still to come from this group of players. Last night will have given them massive belief. We're going to get better and better

Im taken nothing away from beating Barcelona a few years back. We defended well and took our chances. But last night, against Pep Gaurdiola Man City. Assembled with about 450 million pounds. We not only matched them but played them at their game. High press high intensity attacking football. Hooked a midfielder with 15 to go and stuck on another striker to go two up top :worthy:

Glasgow Celtic has an identity to play attacking football. Brendan Rodgers plays that football. Never more proud in all my life. Just to compete like that again

Guardiola is used to teams turning up and playing almost like it's a game of chess. BR decided to launch the chess board in the bin and whip out Hungry Hippos.

Just under a year ago we played Kilmarnock at Celtic Park and we could still be playing now and we wouldn't have scored. The midweek after we played Ajax at home and lost, confirming we'd finish bottom of a Europa League group with a game to spare. Less than 11 months later we're going toe to toe with Pep's 100% Man City team and holding our own. The atmosphere was superb and I'm sure Paul McStay would be correct to say there's a buzz about the place.

No, we're not a CL side yet. But we've had one transfer window to take us from Europa League whipping boys. This team played above itself last night. That's something we've not down for maybe three years.

We're onto something here.

When we were tiring and Man City were starting to get more of the ball and he decides to bring on Roberts and Griffiths and take off Bitton, it just brought up the image of Randy Marsh carrying his oversized balls around in a wheelbarrow saying "Yeah, that's right".

He's determined that the team is going to play to its attacking strengths and rely on those strengths to make up for the defensive deficiencies. Good. When that works, it will be tremendously entertaining. It just about came off last night and we were treated to a thrilling spectacle.
On the plus side, we're back in the running for post-Christmas European football and we might even be level on points with Manchester City at the halfway stage of the group if we beat the Germans and Barcelona keep winning. That in itself would be an astonishing achievement.
On the other hand, if the strategy comes unstuck, we may yet suffer some more postings. It's a high-stakes policy but I'm in favour of it for just now because the cautious, negative approach we've taken in Europe for too long has been dull, boring and, most of all, fairly ineffective. At last it looks like we're really going to have a go and I'll quite happily take whatever we get from trying that.
Exciting times lie ahead.
Agree with your points HC, however I would add a wee byline, we are going to get humped in Europe, no matter what. We simply dont have the resources. Therefor it boils down to a simple point, park the bus or go all in. I think we all prefer the later. :)

We have one more point than most suggested we would get. Now let's aim for 7 at the very least.

 Balls of effing steel. His reading of the game is out of the top drawer because when he went 2 up top City had made a few defensive changes and where happy with a point.

No our Brendan though :worthy:
