Now give us Joe Allen and Stevie G. That would be lovely.
Stevie G is finished. He's bad these days

A brilliant appointment and hopefully a statement of intent which will be backed by an appropriate transfer budget. Season tickets renewed.

Well done Celtic.

A cracking appointment. Brendan Rodgers is a high profile manager following his achievements with Swansea and taking on the role at a club of the stature of Liverpool. He still has a lot to prove as a manager and I think we are getting him at the right time in his career. It is even more better that he is a fan and understands the club and the level of expectation.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted Rodgers, Moyes or McCarthy but now the appointment has been made, I'm excited.
Definitely a feelgood factor building and he isn't even through the door yet.
Well done Celtic (and not before time). :)

I'll support him but would have preferred Moyes tbh - Rodgers' defences have been shampooe. Welcome to Celtic.

Excellent appointment. Can't imagine he would have agreed without assurances on budget etc. This could be very good

Delighted with Brendan Rodgers appointment. Rodgers style of football is akin to that of Celtic and await with interest to see quality of players he brings in and how he brings the best out of players we have already.
Only worry is this one year rolling contract - was that Celtic's choice as usual or Rodgers choice. My hope was that manager appointed would be for next five years and take us to ten in a row. Hopefully Rodgers and his style of football takes us to ten.
He will always be on 12 months' notice: today, tomorrow, next month and six months from now. It's not 12 months, followed by another 12 months, followed by another. It's always 12 months from any date, hence "rolling". If we wanted to get rid of him, it'll cost us exactly 12 months of his salary; alternatively, if another club wants him, they'll need to pay us 12 months of his salary.

I think it's a good model, and I'm surprised more clubs don't adopt it.
Agree with the business sense of twelve month rolling contract. Just hope Rodgers sees this as a medium to long term role and is still manager when we reach ten in a row.
Looking forward to some attractive football and hopefully some interesting signings under Brendan Rodgers.
Hats off to the board for going for top manager rather than another cheap option.
