Wasn't your pre-match team the exact same as the one we put out, the only difference being Roberts started instead of Forrest? ;)

In fairness, Remy isn't being paid a big lump of money to manage Celtic

Tonight shouldn't be a stick to beat him with but a little worried we've yet to get a decent away performance from his team.

Astana we got a draw but were fortunate to do so.

it's a shame he's overseen the two worst European results in our history.

I actually thought the idea was correct the night formation wise. But you can't govern for a team that can distribute, press and out skill you barca can.

Deep breaths and on to the ICT game.
No, it wasn't. If he wanted to go for a back 5, one of the wingers (Roberts) should have been dropped to give us a bit of strength in the middle.

I'm a fan, but tonight was poor tactically. He has to take criticism where it's due.
Who would have given that strength in the middle i'm wondering ?

You can't put much of a gloss on a result like that

But there are some mitigating factors. Barca away is probably the toughest tie in the whole CL and the fact that we got them first and just after the international break was a real pisser.

If the cards had fallen differently we could have been away to Basel tonight.

Armstrong or Rogic could at least have shown for the ball, might have stopped most of our moves from breaking down after brown because of the lack of people showing for it.

If they're not up to it, he should have made sure someone who is was signed in the summer.

Someone said on the match thread that Brendan and the team will learn more tonight than in a 1000 spl games, and I think that's spot on.

Not an acceptable result but not one I'm planning on losing any sleep over

Got it wrong last night. Big time. Needs to learn lessons from it.

Gamboa starting was a strange decision.

Very naive last night. Should have started with an extra centre mid instead of Roberts.

We got thumped but it's nowhere near one of our worst results. The gap between us and Barca is beyond measure. Getting pumped off relative minnows in Europe like Bratislava was far, far worse than last night

I'm assuming it was his idea to tell the keeper not to leave the line, no idea wtf that was about.

We were out our depth last night big time. That said, I thought we done ok in the first half but whether it was the early goal, Iniesta coming on or tiredness we were honking in the second half. We were all over the place, constantly giving the ball away and sitting off their players.

Awful result which we need to move on from and I'm sure the manager will learn a fair bit from.

Not overly worried but a few players were well short last night - keeper is supremely average.

Its a difficult one. I picked the same team, but it shows the massive problem with the international break right after the transfer window. Gamboa literally met his teammates on Friday, 1 training session, a game, probably a day off then travelling on Monday. It was exceptionally difficult for him last night, but I didnt see many alternatives.

The problems were basic mistakes which have been made continuously by the same players over the last couple of years. You cant just fix that overnight.

More than a few folk had Gamboa in their team pre-game. It was hardly a shock inclusion.

After Israel we were always likely to line up as a five. It didn't work against the roottinest toottinest attack in the west.
