Spend a couple of million on a real manager who immediately earns you £30m.

Wasn't that difficult Celtic, was it?

The Deila Era seems like a really bad acid trip now compared to this.

We've been left with some real head scratchers in terms of signings and the club collectively seems to have forgotten what the accepted standard of player is to play at a decent European level.

It is going to take some time for Rodgers to unpick a lot of that damage and even develop some of the raw materials, younger players who one day may be able to do us a turn at a higher level.

In the meantime he needs backed to bring in another two serious players in this window. Difference makers who will enhance the first XI not the squad. Physically and mentally strong talents that can help us manage a game of football that is above our normal level.

Wee Fergus, who was fond of the pennies as we know, summed it up perfectly when he pursued TB but then concluded that he had to be relieved of his duties.

To paraphrase: 'The Manager is the most important employee at the Club'.

Not any director, not any player, not the CEO.

Period.

It's apparent to all that a lot of work still needs to be done after last night. It's going to take Brendan another 2-3 windows to have a chance to make the necessary changes to bring the team to where it needs to be including having back up players he can rely on. I think Europe is going to be difficult from here on in and if we achieved EL qualification from the group stages I'd be over the moon. Starting Janko was the wrong decision but injuries forced his hand into trying it. He did make the necessary changes to shore up the game at the end where we would have crumbled previously. I'm looking forward to seeing how we continue to progress and can't wait for the Aberdeen game. Congratulations to Brendan and his management team.

If his predecessor had managed the same feat as he did under much less trying circumstances, Celtic would be very different just now. What he achieved last night has huge ramifications. There is about a 30% uplift in revenue from the last time we were in the CL Groups.

I was astonished Janko stayed on the park but right now I can't give a flying eff.

Lucky man.

Congratulations on getting us into the CL. The investment has paid off big time. Who'd'a'thought?

Now, go batter down Lawwell's door for money, and get a couple of good players in.

This is the best time to prepare for next years qualifiers. Spend money now so we are stronger next year and can go do it again.

He dragged us kicking & screaming into the champions league.
Give him a better squad & he could get us further than we've ever been.
£30m windfall. Spend £20m on 3 or 4 good players. Sinclair was in this bracket & has instantly become one of our best players.

Magnificent manager & very classy guy.

He has repaid our substantial investment in him in what, two months?

Back this guy with some serious money, and let's see what he can do.

He's done really well to get that squad (injury hit squad at that) into the CL.

Yes things didn't go well over the 90 minutes last night. The change to 3 (5) at the back saw us through. Just goes to show how right he got it when he changed things up in the home leg after we conceded those away goals. He's a terrific manager. No manager gets it right all the time but he's managed to get us into the Champions League group stage with largely the same side as last year. For that reason alone, he should be canonised. Give him the money to improve us further.

I thought getting us in the CL group stage this season would be too big an ask given weve not brought that much in terms of players. We got through on some fine margins but we showed a resilliance during the CL qualifying that hasn't been there in recent stages. Big moments in games where BR has had to change it and its worked. Last nights probably one of the few times since hes been here you could say he got the team wrong but hes got us to the CL at the first attempt and its massive for the club and us as supporters.

Can only echo whats been said in that hopefully with this extra revenue really coming along with spin offs from other matches we push the boat for one or two real quality names

As big Sutton says..we have a proper manager now.

He has had the backing of the fans from day one & it seems the board. He knows what he is doing and knows what he wants and more importantly how to get there.

Everything about him to me from how he conducts himself at interviews to getting results for us says “yes” to me. You just know he is a good one. Delighted for him and delighted for us all.

We have had some tough times last two years and we are all aware Deila was out of his depth even though a nice fellow. We do not need nice fella’s - we need direction and results and Ronny generally speaking was not great at either.

Board went cheap with him and it backfired. We are now flexing our muscles via Brendan. Hopefully here for 5 years at least.

We will no doubt lose games this season but that’s football. He will blast Sevco and has go us into the CL first time asking…does not get much better than that as a Celtic fan.

Seems a great guy and great manager– thanks Brendan!

It's also massive for Brendan Rodgers. He put his reputation on the line coming to Celtic. This has done him no harm at all. Hopefully, he'll enhance that reputation by miles over the next few years.

Definitely, You could see from the pre match press conference one of the biggest factors was trying to get us into the CL.

I think what we forget is that even at this stage, he is still getting to know fully which players can do what and which players can play well alongside other players. He has said repeatedly in his recent press conferences that we are nowhere near the finished article - if such a thing ever exists. The two goals we lost last night had not a lot to do with managerial incompetence. Yes, I know people will say but he was the one who picked Janko and Gordon, however, can the manager be held to blame for two doofers running into each other?

Let's just cast our minds back to before he was appointed. How many actually believed we would have a manager of his calibre? How many believed we had a squad capable of getting into the Europa League let alone the Champions League? And how many really believed after he was appointed that even he would get us into the group stages at the first time of asking.

It is 96 - yes - 96 days since he was appointed. Let that sink in and then imagine what he can do in the next 96 days.
