Anyway, back to Brendhino :worthy: 9 out of 10 so far, if he gets in what he thinks we need these next two windows and dispenses with some of our cannon-fodder, he'll be well on the way
Let's hope he keeps it up, it's great having the passion (as-well as the style) back in the Tic :)

Funnily enough Forrest said the team is much fitter than it was last season. Credit to Rodgers for that.

Don't see Forrest getting the treatment on this view though.
I was amazed by Griffiths post match comments on Wednesday....said that the team would have crumbled last year had they lost those two goals after half time. He was unequivocal that the only difference was the manager.

He was scathing about Deila ...without specifically mentioning him, of course.

We all now that's the truth anyway, but surprising to hear players saying it so openly.

If memory serves Lennon undermined Deila first. I think he had been in the door a few days then Lennon casually mentioned to the papers that Deila was meant to be his assistant. There was no need to bring it up and as far as I'm aware the press had no idea that was the case either. As a result Deila had to answer questions on the subject which put him under pressure right away.

Lennon knows how hard the Celtic job is. I have no idea what possessed him to do that other than maybe resentment (at the time he wasn't getting the job offers he had hoped for). Deila latterly questioned the fitness of the team. I wonder if that was in retaliation.
What undermined Deila was not the fact he was to replace Mjallby as number two six months earlier. It was that he was not the first choice to replace Lennon as stated by the club and was to be assistant to Roy Keane - none of which was revealed by Lennon.
:suspect:

I thought it was Lennon that revealed all that. Sure I remember and interview where he said Deila was scouted out to replace Mjallby before Lennon decided to leave.

Deila was originally coming in as assistant manager. It was not undermining him to state that. Unless you think Lennon should have lied when asked what he knew of Deila.

More revisionist scheidt.

The majority of Celtic fans stuck with Ronny Deila when it mattered. But the truth of the matter is that he was tactically naive, destroyed the players fitness with a ridiculous ultra marathon style diet and his team was turgid to watch. If we are judging him as a Celtic manager then Lenny is bang on. Lennon calls it as he sees it and that's fair enough.

I think he should have held his tongue on that one. It didn't do Deila or the club any good.

There's still some folks blaming the board for not backing Deila. Amazing, but there are.

Thought this was the Brendan Rodgers thread.

It's been a few pages already, so further posts regarding our feelings about Neil Lennon v. Ronny Deila and spats about their relative performances will be subject to pruning for the benefit of those who want to read stuff about our current manager. Thanks.

That was when someone mentioned does he think it's part of the game to talk about other players and managers. "In regards to Joey Barton's comments"

"It's irrelevant"

These journalists do my nut in. Was that not Keith Jackson asking the last question? Is he not Sports editor or journalist of the year or something?

They are so narrow minded and inept. Their sports pages are littered with mistakes and inaccuracies. Their headlines often dont reflect what the interviewees have actually said. If they put the effort in, they could upsell our game and have a real positive impact. They would still sell papers if they stopped pandering to who they think their readership is and lift their topics and standard of writing out of the gutter.

I like the way he talks in these situations. Always in a low, measured voice, the voice of someone who knows they don't have to shout to own the room.
