Another tactical switch, another positive result. Jesus, I've almost forgotten what it feels like to have a manager again.

Probably the most tactically aware and acute manager I've seen in Scotland with the possible exception of Venglos. It's interesting to see more managers like him these days who had very brief if non-existent playing careers, seem to make up for it with deep knowledge of the game.

That's Astana away & home, Tynecastle and tonight again his second half substitutions have had a big positive effect on us & the result. Very impressed. Night and day compared to the rabbit in the headlights/no plan B of the last two seasons.

Edit - perhaps a tad unfair on Ronny but there's no denying we're in far better shape this time around.

It's only been 7 games but already Rodgers has made a huge difference, not just tactically but in terms of instilling some actual resolve in our team.

Lincoln tie = Disastrous defeat in first game, should never have happened, but nonetheless winning the second game took a tiny, tiny bit of resolve. Nothing more that, and nothing that Ronny Deila wouldn't have achieved either (Deila would likely have won both games FWIW).

Astana away = 1-0 down. Up against it in the searing heat of Northern Central Asia. We leave with a very credible away draw after a 78th minute equaliser.

Astana home = 1-0 up and suddenly Astana equalise with a moment where 9 times out of 10 Gordon gets away with his clearance. It's heading for extra time, we get another pen. Rodgers' key signing steps up having not yet scored a goal for the club. Handles the pressure and coolly scores. Bedlam: we're through.

Hearts away = 80 mins gone and we're drawing 1-1 in a hostile venue. On the same day Sinclair arrives, Rodgers puts on his new signing when usually in football a player waits to debut for his new club until at least a few days later. Makes a great run into the box, scores. 2-1: 6IAR campaign starts off perfectly.

Tonight = Once again, we overcome a huge psychological obstacle and turn a Malmo-esque result into our best European win since beating Ajax the last time we were in the Champions League. Some may even argue since the Spartak win to qualify for the Last 16 back in December 2012.

If we can make 1 or maybe even 2 *major* signings in the next fortnight, as well as tightening up our defence, and results wise qualify for the Champions League as well as winning our next 3 league games... we are in for one helluva season

Shows just how shampoo Delia was. Thank god we have a proper manager now. The guy has balls and that's what makes a great manager.

I really enjoy hearing Brendan speak. I remember at Liverpool and Swansea thinking he was a bit full of shampoo, maybe one of those disciples of Guardiola trying to preach to everyone, but he seems to have taken a step back from all that.

He understands the club being a fan. He understands the game because he's studied it and worked hard at it. And most importantly, his signings show that he's got PL sussed very early on. He's certainly no puppet.

Onwards and upwards!

Wholeheartedly agree with that. Like Venglos he is a football thinker. His backroom staff deserve credit too. :worthy:
