Does accosting people count? If so, it's time to dust off 'My Lubo Story'

Remember the Barnes-era Sunday night game away to Motherwell; hurricane conditions and a final score like 4-3 to them? Was at the game with a Well supporting mate, one thing led to another and we ended up speeding our nappers off and full of ectos, thoroughly mad wi' it, up all night.

Come Monday and realising I had to get home to Fife, I dragged myself into Town to get a bus to Glenrothes. Had some time to kill so barrelled into Cruise for a wee perusal (a Crrruisal, you might say), and there he was, The Magician. my hero. I had enough where-with-all about me to know I was an absolute f*cking shambles of a man and shouldn't really be seen in public, but I wasn't on the ball enough to just keep my head down. I stalked him over two floors, being as discreet as is possible for someone who has been up all night, full of gear, right eye going to the shops and left eye simultaneously coming back with the change, sweating like a buffalo.

I picked my moment as the wee man was inspecting a shoe: I popped out from behind a pillar only to find him peering at straight me, in a 'right-ya-rocket-what-the-f*ck-do-you-want' Slovakian manner. This caught me off guard (like I had one in the first place) as I assumed he must have known I loved him to bits and posed no threat. In my panic I tried to shake his hand but grabbed the shoe instead, shook it, and said "you're f*cking magic, wee man"...into the shoe

He just nodded and about-turned, leaving me holding the shoe.

Soon as I saw the shoe I thought...there's a funny KDS story about Lubo and a shoe shop, can't remember it exactly but just that it was very funny and involved class A's. That's just brilliant.

So far I'm incredibly impressed by Rodgers. Everything I'd hoped for and more.

There's something of Mourinho about him, in that he really has a philosophical basis for working the way that he does. You can see that he really believes it is his duty as the Celtic manager to be a real figurehead for the club, from the preparation for matches through to coming out and giving in-depth interviews on TV which provide an explanation to the supporters of what he is trying to do. There's almost as much PR strategist there as football coach, and it's fascinating to watch.

I just read an article there where he states that, as part of a dossier provides to the players ahead of each game, which largely deals with the opponent, they are also provided with analysis of the referee's last 35 games. If this is true then I don't think we've ever seen anything so meticulous in Scottish football. But it's not only the act of proving such detailed information, I think key for BR is the impression that it is leaving on players, is the supporters, other teams, and the media. It's telling them all we'll be doing our homework, you won't get the better of us lightly. And that's even with having the best squad in the country.

Something tells me that Celtic for Brendan Rodgers is almost like Porto was for Mourinho. Sure, it's coming later in his career and with more experience under his belt -only good for us - but I really think he wants to lift the club back up to that level of competition, and for him to be the man to do it. I honestly think that if he does for Celtic what he's looks like being capable of, we will be lucky to hold on to him for more than 2 seasons, 3 if we're lucky. And that's fine, because if a huge club in England (not many) or the continent come sniffing, he'll likely have produced fantastic results here.

Not everything always turns out the way you hope, we won't have everything our own way and there will be road bumps to negotiate, but I'm honestly starting to believe that Brendan Rodgers' time here could be even more special than MON. He's younger than MON when he arrived, more experienced than MON, more organised and detailed. He has far more than MON, as brilliant as he was. We're exceptionally fortunate to be where we are. This is going to be good.
You might want to calm your jets just a tad!

We're all pleased and the signs look good but things have a way to go before we can suggest something more special than MON's first season

I'm not saying it won't be as special - as we just don't know but I'll hold off any bold predictions until the 6th goal goes in against sevco
