I just hope Pistol Pete is keeping the guy updated on the transfer front and he is ok with the lack of activity, we don't seem to be giving him much help at this time, and if I'm being honest, the squad as it stands is not good enough for the C.L. we've added Dembele and Toure to a team that couldn't win a Europa game last year, BR will have us better organised, the players, especially in midfield, are not good enough though

When he looks at his central defensive options for tomorrows game, he'll know exactly what he's dealing with in Splob :boik:
If he didn't know fine, already.

I'm letting myself get a bit angry with the lack of activity, I know it's not an easy process, but even at that, I can't believe we're going into this game tomorrow with Efe as our only experienced centre back, and possibly last seasons flops, Brown and Bitton in midfield...

Half time and job done for this half. Good changes with Forrest and Bitton. Bitton played the better of the two, but Forrest stretched them and stopped their full back marauding all over Tierney.

I think BR has got most things correct so far and am delighted he is here.

His biggest challenge is going to be Brown. He either has to get him playing at a higher level where he isn't a liability or has to drop him.

Really hoping it is the former but looking more and more likely to be the latter.

Needs to drop Brown. If he's anywhere near the manager his track record suggests, then he will see that we are dire in the middle.

He is sizing up the squad and grinding out results. Ronny was so poor I guess Brendan has to work out who he can inspire and who is beyond redemption.

I have trust in his ability as a manager and hopefully he can get some more in to improve the 11

His biggest challenge is getting PL to deliver his targets.

I think this team will integrate, link, learn and communicate better in his absence. Ajer and McNair ;) linking with Roberts, Rogic and Dembele in attack while having the game intelligence and energy to kill opposition attacks in cooperation with Tierney, Sviatchenko and Lustig excites me.

So far nothing has changed that much from Deila's time in charge bar we got a draw today when maybe wed have gotten beat. Many of the players being played aren't good enough and don't suit the way the manager organised the team to play. We need to buy players.

Didn't Gerrard decide to move to LA after a frank chat with BR where he was told he'd be utilising him less frequently due to age? If ye can do that he can surely do the same with Brown.

Indeed. Surely! Otherwise impressed with his calm front while fighting fires in the background.

Thought he did very well this evening, both Bitton and Forrest subs paid dividends.

I think his blind spot around Brown is probably down to leadership. We have long since understood that a serious issue with this Celtic team is a lack of guts, desire and bottle. Now while Scott Brown doesn't obviously exude these attributes at the moment (or his lack of form means that they're meaningless) he is one of the few in the squad who potentially have this side to their game. I firmly believe if each player in the side had the same heart as Tierney, Brown would not start games.

The only positive out of this is that good managers can sometimes bring that side of a person's character out. O'Neill turned players like Petrov, Larsson and even Lubo into really gutsy players with a much greater will to win. If Rodgers can do that with players in the squad like Gordon, Sviatchenko, Bitton, Roberts, and continue to push the likes of Tierney and Griffiths to become real leaders, the need for Brown will lessen.

Changed the line up and it influenced the outcome. In adversarial situations we need players to step up and take responsibility. Brown can do this. His play is often littered with infuriating and avoidable mistakes. But he always steps up. Armstrong and McGregor still seem reluctant/unable to do this. Don't doubt their ability, just their desire. Roberts and Teirney are the same age as Armstrong/McGregor but both show a willingness to take responsibility and get involved. Could be a mindset thing but it's something Rodgers needs to work on. His changes helped settle the team and we got a good result. Well done.
