It's quite difficult managing a club where the demands are winning the league every year to a club where success is finishing above Everton in 7th.

The way I see it, I can offer very little to Celtic discussion on here that isn't already covered. If I genuinely annoy people always going on about Liverpool drop me a PM. However, given we've just appointed an ex-Liverpool manager, I thought I could actually contribute with shampoo people might not know already.

I only really mention Lpool on here for that reason, and because I just watch loads of football (no social life haha) so I try to offer my insight, what little I have, into other football topics. That might sound daft, but you all know your Celtic and don't need me to try and fill in what few blanks there are. However, make no mistake, when I was a wee boy and both clubs played it was Celtic I cheered on. I love Liverpool, but if it wasn't for Celtic I'd never have even liked football in the first place.

@allthewine - Yes, I would for sure. Agger has no history of telling lies - he even admitted himself he was playing shampooe. When he left he said that it was cause his body was effed - that's honesty. BR? Caught out loads of times with half-truths.
@lepetitmerde - Aye mate, desperate. I hope the Huns cuff us home and away, and I hope that Brendan Rodgers dies due to the pressure. Just so I'm right on Kerrydale Street. eff all the happiness that Celtic gave me and got me through the toughest periods of my life - I want to be RIGHT! Are you effing mental? No, I'm desperate for him to make me a (bigger) laughing stock on here. I just hold a certain viewpoint from his time at Liverpool and felt it was important to express that. I hope he's amazing for us.
Well you maybe want to try and enjoy celtic rather than look for every single fault. It's fairly obvious you don't like rodgers and aren't prepared to give him more than 1 competative game to sort the mess out he was left.

What rodgers done at Liverpool has got zero to with what he is trying to achieve at celtic and your holding that against him. Fwiw he was in charge of possible the biggest underachieving club in English football of the last 30 odd years. That's a difficult job to turn that mentality around. But he got very very close to it. It's quite difficult managing a club where the demands are winning the league every year to a club where success is finishing above Everton in 7th.
This

couldn't give a eff about what Agger has to say. BR should be judged on what he does here
not what he did at liverpool. If we had judged Chris Sutton on what he did at chelsea, etc, etc

Correct.

The boss should and will be judged by what he does with us. I respect Liverpool but lets try and keep it in perspective.

If we are hoping to make the Champions league proper the board had better dig
deep to help the manager out ,I can't see it happening with this squad of players.

We have until midnight tonight to sign a a centre-half before tonight’s third qualifying round deadline.

Brendan Rodgers so right not to revel in win like this one

I gave him pelters for his team selection and substitutions against the imps but he already seems to have established a number of key things, if yesterday's game is anything to go by;

- We don't have the players for a 4-3-3
- Ambrose is guff
- Bitton has chucked it

If he plays the 4-4-2/3-5-2 rotation on Wednesday without Ambrose or Bitton then he will have already shown signs of good management.
Was interesting catching up on this thread and reading this from a few days ago.
Called it :ph43r:

Delighted with him. Already seems to be learning from his mistakes, there will be mistakes as he is still to determine his best team.

Tom Boyd made a good point on commentary, I would definitely like to see us line up like that against domestic teams. Not at your Tynecastle's and Pittodrie's obviously but when the likes of Kilmarnock and Dundee come to town and put 11 men behind the ball. If we play that system at the tempo we played at in the first half then we should dish out several pumpings.

Impressed with how he wasn't afraid to change the formation for a one off game, it was a set up designed to completely blow them away in the first half and it did the job. Lustig and Tierney in a back 3 is like not something we will ever (or should ever) see again but it worked well in a horses for courses way. Without wanting to labour the point in the same situation it's likely RD would have stuck rigidly to his preferred system.

Next week's game requires a completely different line up, shape and style of play so it will be interesting to see how it differs.

That article is pish. He clearly raised his fist to celebrate each goal, black panthers stylee, and flashed his gleaming gnashers in a stylish, tanned smile for each goal.

Emotionless?! Literally impossible as he isn't a robot, you vapid excrement of a man.

Quit writing utter pish and concentrate on match reports rather than emotional / psychological analysis and critique.

You write pish articles for a pish newspaper ffs.

Now eff off back to the mucus from which you wormed out from. carrot.

Got it spot on tonight.

Absolutely. Sticking Forrest and Roberts right on their touchlines was simple but massively effective. We still had two up front and an extra man in midfield but we managed to stop them being compact.

Needs to highlight to the team that the tempo in the first half hour needs to be replicated in every game and prolonged. Teams cannot live with us when we play fast attacking football.

I did like how he seemed to tinker with the formation in response to Red Imps changing up what they were doing. Izzy was sort of a winger with Ajer doing the wide-left defender thing while we were in attack. When we lost the ball Ajer tucked in and Izzy went to a more standard full back position. I know it's only Red Imps but snuffed them right out.

 good to see him showcase flexibility even this early. Would rather a manager who's happy to make changes even against teams like that than someone who believes changes aren't needed in every match. A lot of managers would be too arrogant/embarrassed to adjust during that game.

If he has one major strength it's his tactical knowhow - showed that last night and then some.
