Done well bringing Izzy on just when they were coming back into it. Completely nullified their attack.

I like the way we are set up. A quality defender, centre mid and left winger could really make us a strong force. I'm hoping he has shown a ruthless streak with bitton johansen and efe and we never see them again.

Got it right tonight, more proactive and playing a team to suit the occasion. Fair enough it was more or less one we had to win, but he handled the stodginess of the game well. Took advantage when we had to and rested on the ball afterwards. That was his main strength in 13/14, so keep that up please!

Even his interview was fine, all three seconds of it. He got about three questions on Premier Sports before it was done  .

I liked how he went about his business tonight. People get too hung up on formations. He was switching the formation all throughout the game. Constantly signalling to the team to switch it up. Always talking to the players. Made the right defensive subs when the tempo dropped. Freshening it up when things go stale on the pitch is something ronny never done.

Last week was a total freak result. Let it be forgotten about and we move on.

The team will improve as fitness improves and his style of play beds in more and more. Obviously we need a couple additions along with hopefully a few departures.

Having sat behind the home dugout for a number of years, you get a vibe on how the players react to the manager and the instructions he dishes out. Ronny never looked like someone who's in charge of a club the size of celtic. Yet only 2 home games in and one competitive game in you can tell Brendan has a presence about him.

The way I see it, I can offer very little to Celtic discussion on here that isn't already covered. If I genuinely annoy people always going on about Liverpool drop me a PM. However, given we've just appointed an ex-Liverpool manager, I thought I could actually contribute with shampoo people might not know already.

I only really mention Lpool on here for that reason, and because I just watch loads of football (no social life haha) so I try to offer my insight, what little I have, into other football topics. That might sound daft, but you all know your Celtic and don't need me to try and fill in what few blanks there are. However, make no mistake, when I was a wee boy and both clubs played it was Celtic I cheered on. I love Liverpool, but if it wasn't for Celtic I'd never have even liked football in the first place.

@allthewine - Yes, I would for sure. Agger has no history of telling lies - he even admitted himself he was playing shampooe. When he left he said that it was cause his body was effed - that's honesty. BR? Caught out loads of times with half-truths.
@lepetitmerde - Aye mate, desperate. I hope the Huns cuff us home and away, and I hope that Brendan Rodgers dies due to the pressure. Just so I'm right on Kerrydale Street. eff all the happiness that Celtic gave me and got me through the toughest periods of my life - I want to be RIGHT! Are you effing mental? No, I'm desperate for him to make me a (bigger) laughing stock on here. I just hold a certain viewpoint from his time at Liverpool and felt it was important to express that. I hope he's amazing for us.
Cheers for the response, mate.

I am willing to give Rodgers a chance.

Needs to drop the suit...

In all serious he seems a proper manager, and with time we could have something great. He needs some luck and some better tools but the ideas look great and you can tell who is in charge

Was watching him closely tonight as well, sit in that area
Agree with that, mind seeing one of the back room jumping out to say something and he pushed him back into dugout

Got it spot on tonight.

Yup, killed it within 30 mins with a really attacking lineup then told the players to stop wasting energy.

Must confess I was initially naffed with the second half performance but then I thought there are important games coming thick and fast and it's really still pre season so why wouldn't you conserve energy.

Against quality opposition we'd get mauled playing 3 at the back.

Would be good however to see him mix it up in some league matches against lesser opponents.

At least if nothing else he's already proven to be tactically flexible unlike the half wit that was in
charge the 2 years previous.

I think the opposite. At the early stage in the season the players should be busting a gut to get fit and sharp.

I liked the starting line up. Thought it worked well.

Lustig looks better not being asked to get up and down so much. Izzy, Janko, Fisher, Tierney can all play as wing backs if we need to be more defensive though playing a kind of hybrid back 3/4 with Roberts wide right can work too.

Most importantly though, the front two works much better for us even if only because it means we've got more numbers in the box and in attacking positions.

Hopefully we look to use this line up going forward. It even suits our midfielders with Armstrong being able to break forward from deep, Brown being able to just sit and McGregor moving the ball quickly.

I gave him pelters for his team selection and substitutions against the imps but he already seems to have established a number of key things, if yesterday's game is anything to go by;

- We don't have the players for a 4-3-3
- Ambrose is guff
- Bitton has chucked it

If he plays the 4-4-2/3-5-2 rotation on Wednesday without Ambrose or Bitton then he will have already shown signs of good management.
Was interesting catching up on this thread and reading this from a few days ago.

Well you maybe want to try and enjoy celtic rather than look for every single fault. It's fairly obvious you don't like rodgers and aren't prepared to give him more than 1 competative game to sort the mess out he was left.

What rodgers done at Liverpool has got zero to with what he is trying to achieve at celtic and your holding that against him. Fwiw he was in charge of possible the biggest underachieving club in English football of the last 30 odd years. That's a difficult job to turn that mentality around. But he got very very close to it. It's quite difficult managing a club where the demands are winning the league every year to a club where success is finishing above Everton in 7th.
