Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I said I am unconvinced, that's nothing like wanting him sacked.

I was happy with the appointment, but he lost his first game in probably our worst ever defeat, playing a load of players who either chucked it/were found out last season, then his post-match reaction was either ill-judged or completely wrong.

I'm more than happy to give him a chance but he's made his own problems in a single game. It's up to him to fix it, until he does I'll remain wary of him.
hes not made any problems. he has suffered a terrible defeat but hes not made any problems for himself. Hes going to have problems if guys like you are waiting for him to make mistakes.
Of course he has. He picked the team, he made the substitutions. So there's two problems straight away. He effed up on both counts.

Then in the face of our worst ever defeat he came out with a load of old bollocks. Those players deserved to be publicly embarrassed.

I'll give him time, give him the chance to build his own team etc etc, but he's given himself a bit of a mountain to climb when he should have pissed that first leg and already be planning for the next round.

I think that's a fair enough position to take. I've got a feeling there are some fans who are feeling a bit daft about completely going over the top in the days after his appointment.

hes not giving himself any mountain because we will comfortable go through to the next round.

The wrong thing to do would have been to lambast the players in public. After all he needs these players for te time being. THe correct thing to do was do tell the players that performances ike that was unnacceptable and he wont tolerate it. In hindsight you can say picking biton was wrong - however i would have picked him before the game because he should have been good enough to put in a proffesional performance.

get off the guys back and stop hoping he fails so you can giddily turn round and say told you so. You sound like you want him to fail

"The players deserve to be publicly embarrassed".

Perhaps. But publically embarrassing your players is utterly dreadful man-management.

6 in a row and King having thrown every penny available at stopping us, should sort out the squeamish.

Do people expect anything less than negative comments having just witnessed what is without doubt the worst result in Celtic's history?

Point is, it can be pretty negative most of the time, imo. Nothing wrong with that. It has its place!

No disagreement there. The performance and result v. Lincoln put the tin lid on it.

This is it, we're not being negative here we're talking about the aftermath of our worst ever result. Folk are worried about the player's feelings after that? Even if Rodgers did give them a proper bollocking behind close doors he fostered doubt amongst fans and ultimately made himself look weak.

Plenty of time to turn it around, but no one should be complaining about fans being sceptical, the only reason we are is down to the manager.

Who's worried about 'the players feelings'? Not me.

There's a huge difference between bollocking players in public and in private.

They deserved the hairdryer treatment, but there is nothing to be gained by giving the media what they crave.

Nothing to do with the manager. Guys been with the team for 4 weeks. i doubt any carrot could turn this bunch of pick'n'mix into a team in that time. The future lies with the board, they're not aggressive enough.

I cast my mind back to Henrik's first game at Easter Road. He looked rubbish and then we all know what happened.

BR needs a bit of time but he also needs to know when to say nothing too. After the Imps game he should have just said that "the players know my feelings on the matter" and that's it. There was no need to give the media anything else because he was in a no win situation.

I'm at absolutely nothing. If anything your at the wind up or there is a distinct whiff the wrong yin with you. The manager has had 1 competative game in which the players badly let him down and your already on his back.

You will be 1 of the first ones that are on here anytime we conceed a goal during the season questioning the guys competance. Why don't you give him a bit of time before deciding he's a dud?

You're at it because you keep making stuff up to suit your argument, i.e. that conceding a goal will make me question the guy's competence and that I have said he's a dud.

I'll say it again for you, I'm unconvinced by him. He has ample time and opportunity to convince me, starting by picking the right team and getting a convincing win tonight.

Some people think a manager picking the right team simply means agreeing with their opinion.

It's a wonder why we never gave these tactical masters the job.
