Everybody on here needs to calm the feck down. Celtic will win by at least five clear goals and the squad assessment continues. A few more signings to follow with departures also. We have a first class manager and he dealt with the press the way a manager of that ilk should. Keep the faith and chill out drama drama
I was delighted with his appointment and he's definitely a high profile manager.

Last night has made me doubt that he's a first class manager. A first class manager who had watched all of our games last season would know Ambrose cannot be trusted. A first class manager would know Roberts is our most creative player. A first class manager would know Griffiths is not a winger. A first class manager would know McGregor is our best midfielder.

I really hope he turns this around and I think he probably will but he has a lot to learn about this squad. He needs to be ruthless and drop/punt a number of first team players for starters.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Perhaps he is a manager who slates his players privately and gives the press little to get their teeth into. How many times did you hear MON or Strachan slate their players publicly? It was the opposite. The number of times MON enthused about a dreadful performance, or Strachan got pelters for defending the indefensible is legendary.
Rodgers knows exactly what last night was. He just didn't feel like sharing it.
Boab.

I am not expecting him to say publicly that Efe won't play again or Biton's effort is suspect.

But it was what it was. To try and pretend otherwise just looks daft. It like Craig Brown saying, "we won more corners"
Then we should expect plenty more of this. He has his own reputation to protect, and that result will have been hugely embarrassing for him, but if he chooses to try and pick positives from a dreadful performance and perhaps influence what the press print/ report, then more power to him. He will learn quickly however that regardless of what he says, the press will print exactly what they want. I still won't knock him for keeping the hairdryer in the changing room.

Last night was about trying different things - he knows who out best players are and what their best positions are. Next weeks selection will prove that. Chill out man.

And I'm not saying he should publicly slag them either.

But to say that overall the result and performance is unacceptable, is just stating the obvious. It would hardly be flaying the players, would it ?

The press on this occasion are calling this for the embarrassment which it is. Which is what every Celtic supporter I have spoke to feels.

I'd be genuinely shocked if he didn't. No need to make it public though, as he'll want to sell them.

There have been some daft comments but these include people desperately trying to convince themselves that it wasn't that bad, or it's like losing to Ross County, or it was the pitch or it was too hot.

Brendan will be a success. He's a great appointment AND last night was a total disgrace, embarrassment and can't be defended.

The worrying thing for me is his response to all this. There is a very much a "nothing to see her attitude" in my opinion.

I get the impression that with Allardyce going to England he'll be touting himself for Sunderland . His comments on Talksport for someone who claims to support the club show someone who has no understaning of the depth of feeling here.

Last night was an occasion when heads have to roll. If Rodgers is one of those so be it
Dear Lord.
I am going with "Wept Jesus"!!!!

We as Celtic supporters have such strong emotions .

We are capable of extreme highs as illustrated by the stampede to buy season tickets based purely on excited anticipation and equally are capable of extreme doom'n'gloom lows as shown after last nights result

I'm not sure Brendan knows what to make of it all so far

Lennon was able to bring in Hooper, Juarez, Ledley, Kayal, Mulgrew, Stokes, Forster and Majstorovic in his first summer and the team had his mark on it straight away. We need to find a way of doing similar for Rodgers because this current group is cloaked in failure.

Brendan will make sure we win the leg convincingly at Parkhead and will have have marked for death those who contributed to him suffering that defeat in his first game. We'll go on to qualify for the CL proper.

He'll make some decent signings and we'll wipe the floor with Aberdeen and any other challengers for the title, including the tribute act over in Govan.

BRFA for the treble!
