The worrying thing for me is his response to all this. There is a very much a "nothing to see her attitude" in my opinion.

I get the impression that with Allardyce going to England he'll be touting himself for Sunderland . His comments on Talksport for someone who claims to support the club show someone who has no understaning of the depth of feeling here.

Last night was an occasion when heads have to roll. If Rodgers is one of those so be it
Seriously?

Wait - SERIOUSLY?

Bossed the game from start to finish?

That's absurd.
75% possession, woodwork hit twice and a goal chalked off - We will take them next week but this should at least pressure our board into signing Sinclair and Toure hopefully.

Nobody can say we bossed that game from start to finish with any credibility.

I was thinking fud but either way....
Ok, lets see how next week goes when our 2.5 m a year manager gets outwitted by a semi pro team again!

Anyone of us on this thread could have picked a better team (no ambrose) and sussed out that a more direct strategy was required on that park

Anyone who is certain we will do this mob 4 or 5 better wake up

We bossed the game from start to finish. We hit the bar twice. We lacked quality in the final third (surprise surprise) but we WERE the better team, of course we were. That's not to say that is any big deal since they are complete pish. It's a massive wake-up call - that is for sure.

It's not absurd. If we had gone to the San Siro and played like that people would be absolutely crowing about how good we were and how unfortunate we were to leave with nothing. But it wasn't Milan or Inter and the Red Imps were complete pish. They did not deserve to win the game though and only capitalised on an abysmal pitch (which they are used to) and a some sloppy defensive errors from the usual suspect(s). We were BY FAR the better team last night. And we still weren't even close to being good enough. I expect us to take six or seven off this team at home.

There WAS someone yesterday saying they'd bite your hand off for a score draw.

Oh how we laughed.

Having the bulk of possession does not automatically mean we played good football, or anything close to it.

We were utterly shampoo and did not deserve to win the game. Lincoln used archaic tactics but good on them, they are effing part timers. We had one more shot on target than them in the entire game. One.

And they very nearly went 2-0 up, and IIRC went very close shortly after.

You seriously think if we played as we did last night in the San Siro that people would be 'crowing' about how good we were?

I don't mind people highlighting that we had three quarters of the possession, or whatever, but to actually try and claim we performed well in any context is... ridiculous.

After 60 minutes, I would have taken it, would have put us ahead in the tie and meant they would have to score away to go through - now they can just pack their defence, something we are very poor against

We went closer to equalising than they did to going 2 up and they're not all part timers.

Right on the first count, wrong on the second. They were garbage and capitalised on some defensive errors in a manager's first game on a bad pitch. This was not Legia away which was a much, much worse performance on the night albeit it against a far superior team. Yes, we were awful. But we did control the game and we did deserve to win it. Last night was one of those games where everything went their way.

Just watched the post match press conference with BR and while I can understand why he's not sitting slating the players or sayi we need to buck up our ideas I think he's gone too far in the opposite direction. I hated WGS' flippant remarks as Celtic manager because like it or not when you address the media you are addressing the fans. If BR is just gona sit and talk blind bullshampoo it's not gona take long for that to grate as well.

"There's no embarrassment in the dressing room, disappointment obviously" - this has to be bullshampoo. And if it's not then that's the root of all our problems right there. A bunch of players who don't give a eff.

Someone touched on it earlier, this "nothing to see here" attitude sells the fans well short.

we have heard every manager spout nonsense after embarrassing defeats from lennon and ronny to mon and strachan.

what he said after it is the least of our issues, its how he deals with it in the dressing room and how he and the players respond. we all know he knows it was an embarrassment just like mon knew we were noy always "astonishingly brilliant"

after match comments like last night will only be a worry if its a regular occurence and there is no backlash from the team.
Yeah post match press conferences are way down the list of things to be angry at after last night.

I mind Roy Keane saying how Alex Ferguson would always publicly defend his players after a pish result but get tore into them behind closed doors.

The difference is the effort the players put in. Ferguson and MON would rarely have fielded a team of players who tried so little to engage the opponent and just wanted to play through the motions.

I find it hard to believe either would have said there was no embarrassment after getting beat by a part-time team.
