Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Bit pointless isn't it, as shocking as the result was, we should beat them at home, whether we go through is a different matter.

Can we sign anyone for the return leg??
Don't think so

Did we not pass a deadline?
We can still release players though, right?

first thing is it worries the shampoo out of me if rodgers doesn't think that was embarrassing. it was like watching last season . gutless team with no heart , energy or drive. players not taking any responsibility for themselves or the team and repeating the errors and decisions which got delia the sack in the first place. ambrose, forrest, cifcti, brown are not good enough and need to be let go asap. all i can say is these players plus armstrong and bitton must be amazing in training as they seem to get picked over and over regardless of their match performances or who the manager. the question now is will rodgers do what ronny didn't and learn from his mistakes.

Think we can add 1 up to midnight the night before the return match.

So after hammering everyone for assuming anything you are now assuming hes carrying an injury? Based on what?

Surely if he was carrying an injury and Rodgers had no intention of playing him on that surface he wouldn't even be on the bench?
I said someone mentioned it

Didn't say it was accurate
Yes but you've used that form your own assumption, which is the point.

If Roberts was injured he wouldn't have been on the bench last night.
Rodgers hasn't bothered to give him much time on the pitch during preseason games and going by multiple quotes, he wants Griffiths playing wide right.

Beaten by a team of part timers and semi pros from a country the size of Rutherglen and there are no red faces in the dressing room ?

How much bottle has Rodgers got ?

Will he replace the has beens, gutless and couldn't give a toss merchants, or are we in for a load of the waffle he came out with at Liverpool ?

C'mon Rodger, at least be honest with us. We've had phish from Delia and Mowbray like that.

But, YOU, have just witnessed the worst result in Celtic history. Not a tag you want on your CV., but it's there now and it's very real.

You need to get things moving quickly in building your own team, because that shower of sugar will drag you down with them.

i think kennedy should be demoted with immediate effect. he has done nothing to warrant his job and frankly if he is giving his opinion on our players from last year he clearly knows eff all about football

After Jock Stein took over as manager on 10th March 1965 our results included a 1-0 defeat at home to St Johnstone, 4-2 loss at home to Hibs, 6-2 loss away to Falkirk & 2-1 defeat at home to Thistle. I think I'll leave the knee-jerk reactions for now. He did of course win the Scottish Cup against Dunfermline. If we qualify for the Champions League, Brendan will have won his Scottish Cup.
Entirely different situations. Jock took over a team that hadn't won a trophy for 8 years. Rodgers has taken over a team who've won 5 League titles in a row.

Yup. Another one who I genuinely do not know what he does or bring. Has he these mystical UEFA badges that suddenly make you a supreme leader and coach? What does he EXACTLY do at the club day to day and what does he do at training? I honestly dont get his purpose at Celtic. People say that about Eric Black. Everytime someone gets the sack he is always kep./stays on at the club where he has been assistant or coach to said sacked manager. Kennedy is fast turning into that plus the fact I genuinely dont know what he does?

Well, this morning at work was like the old fashioned monday at work after losing to rangers 1872. Except much worse. Rather than being goaded by closet huns and having to suffer the fall out in the MSM, today I have actually been ridiculed by middle aged women, Gibraltarian, English, and a raft of other nationalities. Everyone in my office is asking me about football. Folk who couldnt spell celtic are now suddenly aware that is who i support. I have no anger at last night's result. We were garbage and Lincoln played the game of their lives. What I have just now is complete embarrassment at supporting a team who cannot muster the drive, desire or will to even score against a team of part timers. I expected us to struggle to break them down, and eventually win by a few. Never in a million years did i expect us to concede. Yes, it is only half time in the tie. Yes, we have a chance to redeem things next week. Yes, hopefully in 6 months we will look back at this tie and think WTF happened that night. However, Rodgers has a lot of work to do with the squad. The big word for me is pragmatism. Win games Brendan, that is the only thing that will get you off the hook. Be it Commons, Mulgrew, or whoever - but pick a team that will win a game first of all, before trying to implement any "strategy". And please, for god's sake, don'f eff it up at CP next week.

Jeez

Someone sad he'd heard that Roberts had been carrying an injury

I've not heard anyone say that they'd heard Rodgers doesn't rate Roberts and this seems to be based on Roberts not playing much

There's the difference

It's not uncommon for players returning from injury/close to full fitness to be on the bench to Mibee get 5/10 mins in a game that's won

Alas that wasn't the case and it may have been why he opted for Forrest

Strange to have both on the bench in the first place if there wasnt a reason for it

IF Brendan has watched all last seasons games on DVD there is no way he can rate Forrest higher

Just before the Dawn

If Rodgers was unaware of the task he has undertaken before last night, he now has an insight into the mentality or lack thereof of this bunch of players. No amount of excuses can account for any Celtic side being humiliated by a team from Gibraltar.
I trust that Rodgers public interviews differ hugely from what was said behind closed doors. He should have stripped the paint from the changing room walls last night.
He has big decisions ahead of him. Ambrose, Bitton and Forrest should be sold forthwith. Brown should be stripped of the Captaincy and told he will be a squad player.
Successes last night were almost non existent , Ciftci surprisingly showing more heart and determination than most, and there was enough from Gordon, Svietchenko, Griffiths and Dembele to suggest they will survive any cull. Tierney, Rogic and Christie just had a bad game. It happens.
Rodgers needs his own men in and soon. Players who have leadership qualities first please. We are rudderless on the park, and he needs to address this quickly. The Board simply MUST back him with cold hard cash.
We should qualify next week, I'd say we will qualify, but last night exposed the frailties and gutlessness of many of our current first picks for the whole world to see. And how they must have enjoyed it.
Rodgers reputation took a battering last night. I hope he is hurting as much as we are.

I'm baffled by football.
When fans who pay good money from hard earned wages can see results & performances coming, that highly paid coaches can't - is utterly baffling.
We signed Carlton Cole - baffled.
Rodgers plays Ambrose & he duly obliges with a happy smiley cluster eff - baffled.
Brown continues as captain - baffled.
Brown & Bitton play together in midfield, Johansen would too but is injured - baffled.
John Kennedy - baffled.
Rodgers will play most, if not all of these same players & hope they repay him - baffled.
fans buy thousands of season tickets in the hope of cl football & witness millionaires who think because they are champions of Scotland in a one horse race - that their job is done & that they are worth the money - raging.

If it wasn't for the weather, I'd get into golf.

we have to hope he was raging but i have doubts. for too long this bunch of wasters have been protected by the manager saying total crap in public about how good we were and were unlucky or blaming something else. they don't deserve protection anymore. how much worse will they be if rodgers last night had come out and said the performance was an embarrassment and if players perform to such poor standards they will be gone . he would have gotten my respect if he had of done that as it is what most fans feel about this group of players for last 2 years
