If he wants to make a statement of intent, he has to drop Brown.
You think he will? I don't.
I don't think he will but, again, he was miles off the pace tonight. If he's not fit, don't play him.
He looks done to me. His explosiveness used to be top notch. He moves like he has John Hartson on his back.

Even though he should drop Brown, he wont. Dropping him might make him lose the dressing room.
Wish he would lose half the players in it.

Good Celtic teams have had 4/5 captains on the park.

Great Celtic teams have had 7/8 captains on the park.

We're desperate for one captain on the park.

Most of the dressing room should be taken for a long walk of a short pier.

For Scott Brown, see Roy Aitken. A player with far too much clout and influence based on sheer force of will and longevity and virtually no talent.

Managers who can't see the issue with that will undoubtedly, inevitably pay with their job.

He'd better be sitting down with Lawwell tomorrow demanding that he gives him the money for new, decent quality signings.

Apparently the Brendan Rodgers Philosophy™ needs smart players who are fit as eff and professional to succeed. It's very hard to get that message across to a big squad. I just had a greet about this in the transfer thread but to make that work we need loads out, and only a few in. But a few who can be the real catalyst for positive, long-term change in the whole playing culture of the club. We reek of people who want to be Celtic players but cba working for it.

Get guys who can be effing heroes for a few years and make them the keystones of the team moving forward. Get the squad down to only those who want to be the best they can be etc.

Then I imagine he can get us playing his way. When he's trying to coach a bunch of lazy bastards who don't want to learn it, he'll get nowhere. His best time at Liverpool came when he had a small squad that could all get full coaching time and commitment. Unless we want more of the same disjointed crap as last year, we need to really cut this squad.

this it for me. armband shouldnt mean a thing as there should be plenty of leaders without it

was disappointed in sviatchenko in that aspect tonight. didnt seem as vocal as he was towards the end of last season

He better be on to Lawwell to get rid of the imposters that have clearly chucked it. Start earning that bonus and punt these charlatans pronto.

Storm in a teacup if true. Might also be a wee eye opener for him though.

Good. Hopefully he'll lose them down a salt mine and then dynamite the thing.

Then Lawwell can justifiably demand he sells Bitton and installs Sviatchenko as captain.

If Brown and Biton play in the same Celtic team again, barring any major injury crisis, he isn't a good football manager
