Yes lets blame Rodgers... :brickwall: Peter Lawwell is the problem, stalling on signings and not looking at the best interests of the team.

Claiming to have watched extensive footage of last season and still playing Brown, Bitton and Ambrose whilst putting our 40 goal a season striker on the wing. The same wing our best player was brilliant on last season who sat on the bench while two other duds from last season Forrest and Ciftci came on.

Abysmal.

I still have faith that he'll be brilliant for us but the above is extremely worrying.
You need to hope he uses this to demand even more support than he has been offered. He can't make the majority of this pish any better. He needs to be allowed to bring in his own players. If he doesn't he is tying his own hands behind his back.

Hopefully some real lessons learned tonight. Chief among them that Ambrose is a complete liability at every level. Also, Griffiths should not be shunted out wide. No matter how good Dembele might be, he needs to earn his place in the team. If that means changing the system then so be it.

Said we have a very good group of players.

Should have went for Keane.
Yeah, I'm sure he said the exact same thing to the players in the dressing room. What do people expect him to say to the media?

As with transfers, he'll have his opinions (especially after tonight) and one well prepared line for the media (e.g. the likes of Brown/Johansen being "important players") and people need to start realising that before going into permarage on here every time he gives an interview.
I don't expect him to say that there was no embarrassment.

Tbh having seen the Liverpool documentary it wouldn't surprise me if he was pleased with the performance.

One wonders the conditions agreed upon before he signed on.

He'd be certifiable if the thought he could get a good team out of what we have.

Lawwell is by far the biggest problem at Celtic. He truly needs to 'GTF'.

That said, there's plenty to blame the manager on with tonight's result.

When you think about it he's making the same mistake as Deila. He's come in and tried to put into play his philosophy rather than looking at what suits the players he has at his disposal right now. It's only one match and it had some mitigating factors but the reality is he's guided us to our worst result ever in his first competitive match.

 How the eff does anyone know the board have refused so far to get the chequebook out? Our effing development team would pump this shower so maybe Rodgers has decided to give what he has the chance. More fool him but he should now know he needs at least 5 or 6 new faces.

Exactly. Playing LG out wide stunk of Deila. If BR wants us to play good attacking football, he'll need CM's who are assured on the ball and can make things happen. Ours are not any of those things.

And if he persists with Bitton, Ambrose and Janko, he will fail. You can't remove a 40 goals a season striker to accomodate a teenager.

This what we were like last season, without LG's goals.

He has to know now that there are certain senior pros he cannot trust - even against a semi-professional team from Gibraltar. Ambrose, Bitton, Brown, Forrest in particular. Whether he has the clout and/or balls to get rid of them will make or break his Celtic career. Ronny Deila didn't; Rodgers must have.

Not sure he's a systems man, as he chopped and changed a good bit in previous jobs but he should have been playing it long on a shampooty pitch as opposed to trying to play good football. My worry is that he is too close to Brown to drop him. He needs to grow a pair and think about how best to win a match.
