Maybe he means that whatever the topic there is always some fantastically wild opinion voiced. Doesnt need to be a general consensus, just that there will always be something leftfield.

Griffiths is a class act in the SPFL, but in Europe? I'm not sure.
There's a big difference. Look at Kris Boyd.
The only difference between the SPFL games and Europe is the way we tend to set up. The standard of the teams we play in the qualifiers is certainly no better than our normal league competition, yet we go into Europe playing a cagey, fear-of-losing style with a lone striker up front practically on his own. No striker, not even a 40 goal scorer, is going to shine with that total lack of support. If we just played our normal game against the dross we meet in the qualifiers we would waltz into the group stages (which is how we used to do it not too long ago). Hopefully that's the way BR will approach it. We have been nervous wrecks in recent qualifiers. You should be a spin doctor, that is quite a remarkable take on Griffiths.
The fact is he played pish in Europe because he's a player of limited ability who struggles to step up against better sides. This is the reason why he doesn't play for Scotland, and why we haven't been batting away big money offers for him.
I get the feeling that Brendan Rodgers knows this too, and would rather a player who will fit into his "one brain" idea. Expect to see Leigh dropped, and be used as a substitute if we are chasing games.

ERIK Sviatchenko says he’s relishing life under Brendan Rodgers as Celtic’s pre-season trip to Slovenia passes the halfway point. The focus has been on fitness in the Scottish champions’ base in Maribor, with the manager determined to get the players fully prepared for the start of competitive football next week in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. Sviatchenko and his colleagues have been putting in double sessions in intense heat to hone their conditioning, while the extra time on the training field has also given the Hoops boss a chance to imprint his ideas and approach on to the players. Despite the demanding schedule, the Danish defender told Celtic TV in an exclusive interview that it had still been extremely enjoyable. He said: “It’s really exciting. It’s a new way of coaching I haven’t been used to but it’s really something I like and I’m looking forward to getting to know it even better. It’s how I want to play football and it’s just about getting that fitness so we can play that way. “It’s more disciplined and much more aggressive and higher in the pitch and it’s all about the individual skills as well. “The manager talks about the players needing to flourish and do their thing in the last third, while the defensive players have their focus on getting the ball as quickly as possible. “But he speaks a lot about the team as we need to stick together when we have a lot of games. All we want is to win games and go to the Champions League and that’s the main goal now. “It’s a bit different to what it is in Glasgow so it’s been nice to here and enjoy the nice weather, but we are here for football reasons,” continued the defender. “We have been training twice a day but it’s still been fun. There have been a variation of different drills in training, so even though you are getting tired you still think it’s fun and that’s the way football is meant to be. “We are getting more and more confident with the way we need to play and it’s all about getting those important games. We are happy so far.” With Brendan Rodgers rotating his squad in the two games on the tour so far – the 2-2 draw with NK Celje and Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Sturm Graz - Sviatchenko has already got some valuable game-time under his belt. And now he’s hoping for further involvement in tomorrow’s (Wednesday) clash with Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana. “There was progression from the first to the second game,” said the 24-year-old.”I played a half in each game so I have played one full game now along with the other players, so at this stage the manager is mixing things up and seeing how everyone is coping with it and getting the best out of everyone. It has been good.” The Bhoys have been backed by dedicated Celtic fans in both matches and Sviatchenko will never take their support for granted. “I wouldn’t say I’m surprised as I know we have a big support base everywhere we go,” he said. “We are in Slovenia but it would be the same if we are in the States as I know there are a lot of fans everywhere. It’s nice to see people coming along, smiling and helping us. “We need to remember that Celtic is a family and everywhere we go we will see each other and greet each other.” http://www.celticfc.net/news/10818

All of our players struggled in Europe last season.
Time will tell if he can make the step up.

While Griffiths is clearly not the greatest striker in the world, there's no denying that we often went into European games under Deila looking like we knew we didn't have chance of winning, and that certainly affected the quality of service that Griffiths received. Had the rest of the team (and Griffiths by extension) had a bit more belief and some better tactics, he's a good enough player to have capitalised on that by scoring a few more than he did.
