Pleasantly surprised about Allen. I thought he would get punted. If he's staying then I reckon McGregor could be away.

Really want to see Armstrong do well. He has so much to offer, just a case of getting it out of him.
Why do you think McGregor would be away, he was one of our better players last year and is young and improving.

You've previously said this so do you not like him and it's wishful thinking on your part?
has McGregor played much in the two games so far?

2 lots of 45 mins. Was captain in the 2nd half of the first game.
Has looked good & I think he'll definitely be in the manager's plans.

The ulterior motive being Griffiths isn't as good as you think he is?
I don't think he's good enough for Europe either :ponder: It's just a criticism that is only ever thrown at one player when it's true for almost the entire squad. You know what the ulterior motive is
I think that the difference between Griffiths and the other players in this regard is that a striker that can cut it in Europe can make a difference even if the rest are below the required level. Since he's our best striker (with an eye on how Dembélé does) and we rely on him for the bulk of our goals, we know how European results will probably pan out. There's no ulterior motive in that*.

* Having said that, he should never have played for Celtic in the first place and should have been sacked after the Skácel song incident.

The issue of Roberts is an intriguing one. On loan from Manchester City, some Celtic fans have been critical given so much hype is being given to a player who is effectively not theirs, and is more than likely destined to return to the Etihad. It is not a view shared by their manager, however.

With regard to the statement above from the articles posted earlier, I think there is a bit of mischief making here as I haven't heard any Celtic fans complaining about Roberts being here or the hype that follows him

As a matter of interest, given the size of some of the EPL squads, with lots of players out on loan at any given time, how many return to be a success?
Denayer is the one I have in mind, and after his performance against Wales coupled with reports of his stint in Turkey, I can't see hin making it at Man City. I reckon the same will be the case with Roberts.

I get the impression that Griffiths feels he is fortunate to be at Celtic, wants to make the most of it so will work hard for the manager in all circumstances.

He really knuckled down for RD when he clearly wasn't rated by him at the outset
Agreed. The guy's attitude has been outstanding. From bawbag to role model.

The hype around Roberts is imaginary. He's been okay for us, nothing more. His most memorable moment last season was the open goal miss against Sevco. If he went back to City I wouldn't be bothered.

Griffiths is a class act in the SPFL, but in Europe? I'm not sure.

There's a big difference. Look at Kris Boyd.

Roberts was really quite unimpressive at first but seemed to decide that he had to kick on a lot after the sevco game, and was much better. I think he will be a big player next season.

Needs to add more variety to his game - his decisions can be a bit too predictable. That should come with time and experience.
