Getting on a bit

Pleasantly surprised about Allen. I thought he would get punted. If he's staying then I reckon McGregor could be away.

Really want to see Armstrong do well. He has so much to offer, just a case of getting it out of him.

Wonder if the Garry Monk reference is a wee veiled warning to Broony.
Could very well be.

For me the 2 players that jumped to mind were LG and Kris Commons. Maybe a way of saying to Leigh, yeah you scored 40 goals last year but the way the team will play this season better suits Dembele? Or Commons, just for being Commons.

Caulker, Toure, a midfielder and one more up front unless he is remaking Nadir into a cross between Suarez and Lambert and turning him into a battering ram goal machine and hes done well from his first window.

Griff is the one player who knuckled down with no regard for who the manager was and in fact he just got on with it when Ronny was persevering with Ciftci in Europe so I doubt he will have any problems with Brendan

Agreed, Griffiths has proven that he has a good attitude to being tested.
He'll knuckle down & rise to the challenge.

I think one legacy from Ronny is that he seems to have helped Griffiths wake up and smell the coffee. He seems to have settled down both on and off the park. I think there will be little difference of opinion between him and Brendan.

I get the impression that Griffiths feels he is fortunate to be at Celtic, wants to make the most of it so will work hard for the manager in all circumstances.

He really knuckled down for RD when he clearly wasn't rated by him at the outset

I think Rodgers is clever enough to know that Griffiths won't cut it in Europe.

His ideas are very similar to Delia's,spookily even some of the language is the same 'small details','little details'.Managers like to think they can control every variable even though they can't but Rodgers might have the advantage of credibility and assertiveness over the last guy.For example the squad is too big and lop sided,Ronny said that but Rodgers might more sway with the board in doing something about it,if we go out of Europe early doors there won't be many fans concluding he's a dud,Kris Commons doesn't suit the modern game but Rodgers might be better at delivering the message etc..but the problem of Celtic aa a club with big expectations confined in a wee environment is one no manager can fix.

The difference, so far anyway, is that what RD said and what actually happened, were often not related (other than being opposites)

Small details/marginal gains is well recognised in sport though isn't it? I was at a conference when someone from British Cycling/Team GB did a presentation on it, it was really interesting but it's not new.

Doesn't look great for Commons
He could still be utilised in a 4-3-3 I guess, but all those qualifies Rodgers are asking for, are the ones Commons has proved to be lacking. Doesn´t seem like Rodgers is giving him much chance and I can only applaud that.

I think Rodgers is clever enough to know that Griffiths won't cut it in Europe.
That applies to pretty much the whole team but is only ever used to criticise one player. It's almost like there's an ulterior motive...

Why do you think McGregor would be away, he was one of our better players last year and is young and improving.

You've previously said this so do you not like him and it's wishful thinking on your part?

The ulterior motive being Griffiths isn't as good as you think he is?

I don't think he's good enough for Europe either :ponder: It's just a criticism that is only ever thrown at one player when it's true for almost the entire squad. You know what the ulterior motive is
