With it going into 16/17 season, itll be one of the Lions on flag day
Should get all of the surviving members there.

Going by the New strip though, it will be next season we celebrate the 50th anniversary.

He did.

The standard of questions at the press conference yesterday was borderline contemptible.

Chris McLaughlin in particular was a complete and utter embarrassment. eff off you absolute winkers :nono:

Our new manager.

‘I’ve looked at every single goal Celtic scored and conceded (last season) since I was appointed,’ he added. ‘I know where there are areas we can improve on and gain.'

Rodgers has already looked at what went wrong against Malmo in last season’s play-off, when Celtic spurned a first leg advantage in Sweden.

‘They fell short last year on a couple of set-pieces,’ he said. ‘That’s what stopped them going through.

‘I’ll need to assess things and I’ll need to look. There are some good players here and some young talents.

‘I can look and identify all I want from a distance. You always have an idea of how to change things and there are one or two players I’ll want to bring in, but I want to look and speak to the players who are here.

‘This is a club that expects to win titles and be competitive in Europe. The measure will be on both and that’s what I’m driven to achieve.’

The research Rodgers has conducted stretches well beyond what unfolded on the continent.

‘I’ve looked at every single goal Celtic scored and conceded (last season) since I was appointed,’ he added. ‘I know where there are areas we can improve on and gain.

‘That’s important for us. I probably started doing that a wee bit before I was appointed. I had the idea I was coming.’

A strong work ethic is the foundation of Rodgers’ approach. It was what helped make him such a success at Swansea, where he expertly utilised a relatively limited budget to create a squad and a style of play capable not only of achieving promotion, but also of thriving within the English top flight.

Then came Liverpool. And the 2013-14 season when Rodgers came so close to delivering a first league title to Anfield in 24 years. His sacking last October provided a chance to regroup and reflect. So, might his best years still be to come?

‘I’d hope so,’ said Rodgers. ‘Maybe the difference with me is that I was coaching for 15 years before I got my first (management) job. Whenever I finished playing I got into coaching very young.

‘There’s no doubt you gain through experience. There’s no way that I know everything – I’ll be getting better and better.

‘My mind-set is to grow and to learn and if you can do that then you become better and I hope that’s the case here.’

Just watched the Celtic tv videos

Had a serious dust problem in my eyes.

What a support we have truly. So very very proud to be a Celtic supporter.

What a reception for BR, pretty sure I noticed his eyes welling up when YNWA was being sung

Ticks a lot of the right boxes. I don't think we really wanted to abandon the principles that Ronny had, but rather find someone who could implement them effectively. But it's equally as important to have someone who is motivated enough to see Celtic as their right career step. And while it helps to have an emotional connection to the Hoops, the job needs to match the manager's ambition too. Was a bit concerned that someone coming over the border would lack motivation for the job, but thankfully that seems anything but the case.

Feels different to when MON was appointed. We were at a low ebb, and it was more like the need for a charismatic manager to lift the club. Now we need someone to take us to the next level.
