Lawwell had a face that would have cut coul iron as my granny used to say. It's perfectly obvious the arrogant one had been sidelined on this now that his Delia project went sideways.
Would expect him to resign in disgust for the part he played in creating all that excitement yesterday.

He looked pissed right off at times. Makes you wonder if his ego would try to make things difficult for Rodgers in someway?
seriously

Was told today the negotiations were very smooth, Brendan basically said he wanted to come and everything flowed really well after it.
He said similar himself yesterday but good to hear, those at the top were very impressed with the professional way he handled it all.
Tbf means nothing unless henrikmc2 is " I'm hearing ----------------" similar. :)

When we were first linked I may have used the words fantasist, disaster, deila esque when talking about Brendan. Purely because i didn't think we had a chance of getting him.

Was a great atmosphere last night and everyone seems to be right behind him. I have a feeling he could be here for 5 years plus and this is the start of something special.
So you thought he was a spoofer until we got him? What a balanced mindset you have
I'll admit I used to think he spoke a power of shampooe t Liverpool and was incredibly up himself however I also thought his teams always played good football and that he was able to get certain players performing well above themselves for im at times, as someone else pointed out he seemed to have a very different attitude at the event than what he had laterally at Swansea and at Anfield so I suppose its possible that he's reflected and changed approach.
I think he tried to be the big dog at Liverpool, the man with the patter etc. and it failed big time. It's the major thing that put me off him at Celtic.

However, he is a proper Celtic fan and that always gave him credit in the bank for me, even when things when totally breests up at LFC. He looked humbled yesterday and mentioned on several occasions about his age when he went to Liverpool. I'm happy to see if he's dropped the arrogant, I'm the man shampooe. If yday is anything to go by it looks to be that way. Tried too much too soon at Liverpool - new personality, the lot - but looks like he may have had a wee look inward instead of blaming the transfer committee. That's a really good thing.

Big difference between trying to come across as the right man to replace Dalglish at Liverpool and being who he has been all his life, a Celtic supporter. So long as he talks about football more than anything else he'll do just fine  . As a coach I canny fault him, he was naive at Liverpool but I think anyone of his relative inexperience would have been, too.

I would MUCH rather have Brendan and his big gub than effing David Moyes. My issues with Rodgers' were more personal and can be fixed with relative ease but my issues with Moyes are stylistic and will likely never change. So happy we went with Rodgers over Moyes.

Don't know if this has been posted yet (probably has) but just in case. Rodgers chats informally to a few Celtic fans yesterday. Thanks to Celtic Research for the recording.

Cheers, Kev, enjoyed that.

I admire his honesty in admitting he'll need assistance on the Scottish game. Would've been easy for him to bullshampoo.

See the pant wetters are out.

BRFA
I suppose people had to find something to have a dig about, but BRFA was the best they could come up with?

When it starts ringing out, stand to stand back and forth it will be sensational.

Just like it was when it was PMFA.
If last night was anything to go by. They'll be lone dissenting voices.

It was rapturous last night.

Yep. He also looked about 5 years older than the last time I seen him.

I'd go as far as to say that he looked ill.

My advice to him would be to retire.

My thoughts on some of the Swansea and Liverpool stuff are that like everyone he is always learning. Some of the egotistical self-improvement stuff in particular was, I think, ill judged. That said it's clear it's worked for him and he is a guy who has a work ethic which enabled him to get to the top of the game. He should just not talk about it, and put it into action.

It's an interesting debate-how much of football management is man management and how much of it is coaching. Much as we all love MON his usual style of football is pretty industrial. With us it was okay because we had some outstandingly talented individual players who made it much easier on the eye.Rodgers job is going to involve much more coaching to make the unit more than the sum of it's parts because we are lacking players of that calibre. £15 million would buy you the KOKs left pinkie these days.

Excited nevertheless.

Hope this BRFA debate doesent drag on forever, its probably going to be a regular thing and hand wringing about it at every instance could get rather tiresome.

Watching it all over again. Very impressed by the way the club handled the whole publicity around it. Summer Harl is a major asset with Celtic TV, however they need to get a better studio design!
