When we were first linked I may have used the words fantasist, disaster, deila esque when talking about Brendan. Purely because i didn't think we had a chance of getting him.

Was a great atmosphere last night and everyone seems to be right behind him. I have a feeling he could be here for 5 years plus and this is the start of something special.

So you thought he was a spoofer until we got him? What a balanced mindset you have

Lawwell had a face that would have cut coul iron as my granny used to say. It's perfectly obvious the arrogant one had been sidelined on this now that his Delia project went sideways.

He looked pissed right off at times. Makes you wonder if his ego would try to make things difficult for Rodgers in someway?

 I had enough of deila and wanted a pragmatic manager David moyes style. The envelope pish, keeper must pass the ball rather than punt it and similar formation and philishopy to deila didn't appeal. He came across as a bit of a throbber to be honest. After doing a bit of research and hearing him him speak I have changed my mind.

I thought the same. He is usually beaming at these occasions, but his face was tripping him yesterday.

Yep. He also looked about 5 years older than the last time I seen him.

Jam back on.

Don't know if this has been posted yet (probably has) but just in case. Rodgers chats informally to a few Celtic fans yesterday. Thanks to Celtic Research for the recording.

There would definitely have been wee invasion/Hibby type jokes yesterday if it was Hartley or Lambert he was unveiling.

Agreed and he made the point of 'living within our means - same as for Ronny' too

Dummy spat I think

Delighted that we have Brendan in place. Must admit I was still quite astonished that 10k+ showed up to greet him.
That huge number went to see him but the knock on from that is that the same again will jump on the bandwagon as they see good times ahead and also attend games. Im in no way meaning that to sound uber fan stuff as most on here k ow i no longer go to the games. It will be good though, people wont want to miss out, hopefully the days of having your pick of where you get a season ticket for will soon be gone and we may again have very limited seats and god forbid a real waiting list.

Yesterday shows that Celtic never loses the fans, they may just push them further away for a while.

I'll admit I used to think he spoke a power of shampooe t Liverpool and was incredibly up himself however I also thought his teams always played good football and that he was able to get certain players performing well above themselves for im at times, as someone else pointed out he seemed to have a very different attitude at the event than what he had laterally at Swansea and at Anfield so I suppose its possible that he's reflected and changed approach.

Why are folk getting upset about the world "fenian"? And the fact it will upset supporters of other clubs into the bargain too is a nice wee bonus.
Irish tosh.

Well...what does he actually do?
He ensures that the headless chicken formation in defence is properly all over the place every time the ball comes near the box.

Regards this being a DD signing, didn't Brendan Rodgers say in the press conference that the first person that called him to ask if he was interested in the job was Peter Lawwell?

Obviously, he might have made that call on the behest of Desmond, but I'm not sure there's any real evidence either way to say who had the bigger involvement.

Or am I missing something? :suspect:
He kept saying Dermot and had to keep adding Peter in, as if Peter had nearly eff all to do with it but he's the CEO, so he feels he should involve him
that is just nonesense, some people need to grow up a bit :ffs:

Was told today the negotiations were very smooth, Brendan basically said he wanted to come and everything flowed really well after it.
He said similar himself yesterday but good to hear, those at the top were very impressed with the professional way he handled it all.

This is the appointment I wanted for at least four or five months and I am delighted that he is finally Celtic manager.
There is a real sense of something good about to happen. Hope he judges the squad on guts and not football ability because that was the quality that has been lacking in the last year. Really looking forward to a team that have fight and guile as well as the ability to play attacking stylish football.

If he came across to the board the same as he did yesterday to the fans and media, I'm not surprised.

Seems very far removed from how he occasionally spoke at Liverpool, in a good way.
