I find it strange that a reasonable and calm point made and opinion expressed is reduced wetting my pants wringing my hands and being a closet Hun

Opinions are allowed - there was little by way of offence or mock outrage from me and others - none of us speak on behalf of the entire support and I'm certainly not trying to - just expressing my opinion

It just so happens that as usual - my opinion is the best one :arrr:

I'm still really excited about this. For some reason, I wasn't overly excited at first when his name was suggested, but I can remember seeing one of the KDSers retweet the official tweet announcing him being appointed and I could barely move because I couldn't really process it. I couldn't really believe that we'd go through with appointing a manager like him, who's a big name manager with decent experience and could maybe be a deciding factor in whether or not players want to come here. It's also pretty good listening to his wee David Brent like conferences and explaining formations n that - there's just something good about him.

Listening to Griffiths yesterday, he seems pretty surprised and excited that we've appointed him manager and I'm sure the rest of the team is the same. Hopefully he doesn't accept any shampooe from players like Bitton and Johansen and gets players like Commons under his thumb and out the door at the first sign of trouble. It's time for the manager to have the biggest ego at our club now, he needs to be in charge.

Same mate, I thought he was going to start crying..

Emotional.

Wait until CL night, with a full stadium. I really hope he wants to hear that more than anything else & will stop at nothing to hear it.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Desmond has tried to get Keane once or twice,in the past he tried to get Joe Kinnear. His judgement in these things isn't his strength, that lies in being in charge of remuneration for key executives .He is responsible for the salary Lawwell gets because he thinks Lawwell does a good job for him and the board. He can also infulence what we pay a manager ,because he's decided to offer Rodgers a big one that reflects badly on Lawwell ? You think he didn't want a highly rated manager like him ,that he would prefer a diddy ? Don't get the logic unless it's just because it been decided Lawwell is the bad guy and any evidence, even todays where Rodgers said Lawwell persuaded him to join, has to be disregarded.
ok here we go again

You were nowhere to be seen as Lawwell singlehandedly drove our revenues down, let our squad delevelop into a mess, brought in the jokes that are Cole ckr and numerous others with someone who will be looked on as a complete amateur of a manager - and someone who couldn't get by piss poor Scandinavian sides. He managed to clear a third of the stadium and cover it in banners.

Lawwell got us into the mess as CEO and DD has most definitely stepped in to ensure that Brendan Rodgers gets us out of it so DD was at fault for delegating too much power to the arrogant man but thank eff he's stepped in as Lawwell would never have got it if he didn't get it after Malmö and molde

Anyhow Brendan is here it's sunny as eff the Huns have been found out by a championship side and all is right with the world
He was at fault for delegating too much power to Lawwell is as near as you get to admitting a collective responsibility on the part of the PLC.Making out Lawwell is the problem in the operation and Desmond is the solution makes no sense at all.

Ok, I think we can move on from this particular long and winding Fenian road.

Even if you don't agree with the use of the word Fenian in a Celtic song, I'm sure the difference between that song and the term "Fenian bastard" is patently obvious to everyone.
KDS's Atticus Finch at his best
 It's a promotion from Janny.

So did he. He could barely get the words out. Looked choked up.

(YNWA does that to me often, happy or sad. Beautiful song, and sang better by the green and white. )

For me there was also a look in his eyes of "OMG I've actually agreed to this".

I think new managers go through the motions of "I've followed them since boyhood"/"I know they are a world class football club"/"It's more than a football club" etc but it's only when you actually experience over 10,000 people turning up for your introduction that you begin to get an semblance of what it's actually like to be the manager of Celtic Football Club

it's clear that those moaning about the BRFA song didn't have to endure the half hour of cover versions of Celtic songs that preceded the press conference. Now THEY were awful.

I couldn't get down to CP last night after work. Some of those clips and pics are pretty amazing. Place looked bouncing. :rocker:

It looks like some supporters have awoken from a slumber and are starting to give a eff again. STs should be flying off the shelves next week. Could be the start of something special.

As an aside, I had to unfollow that lassie from Celtic TV on Twitter. Timeline was filled with her batting away tweets from pent-up teenagers and creepy guys. Hunners of them.
