Commits himself when he doesn't have to and needs to learn to read the game better but he's a great prospect.

Really rate the big man but he still has so much to learn, goes to ground way to often.

Agreed. He has strolled all three old firms thus far - if he improves even more in the air and at set pieces we'll be laughing.
Three what?

Has anyone mentioned the diving in and going to ground too often thing?

He's young - needs experience and these are the times to make mistakes. But hopefully he learns from those mistakes. But he really does need to stop those daft go to ground slide tackle things. It's like watching an auld computer game and you'd just repeatedly bash the triangle button until the slide tackled the eff out of the opposition and finally won the ball.

Don’t think he reads the game very well yet but he’s just turned 20 and his other attributes (playing out from the back, composure, passing, strength and aerial ability) are enough to suggest he’ll eventually go on to be a very good player.

Still wants to dive in far too often and overplays at times. But still way above Hendry

Badly at fault for their second.
Hendry and Boyata far more culpable.

Ajers the best of a bad lot, get some quality players in with him and watch him flourish.

Never in a million years. He needs to go out and press the guy, ended up marking a nothing area.

Our best player today by quite a bit.
Agree our only player who had a verve about him today and also looked our most attacking threat, his run out of defence in the first half when he brushed off 3 players and played in Griffiths was immense, needs a helping hand in there though.

Where he ran from his own box, through 3 players to play in a nice ball - what a goal that would've been!

Poster above mentioned the going down too early/easily. Was really obvious today.

He was our best defender though.

Barker cut his surges out big time.

Just re-watched full game from yesterday and kept a close eye on him, mainly because I was debating with a few posters who were criticising him in the Boyata thread.

He made 3 mistakes in the whole game. The first was around the 37th minute when he was caught napping and let Windass through who made an arse of the cross. The second was around the 71st minute when he was caught up the field and lost his runner, Tavernier put a ball into the box which was cleared by Boyata. The third was in the 88th minute where he ran into trouble and Candias shot wide.

Apart from the above, he was faultless. Everything else he done ranged from good to excellent. He didn’t lose a single aerial duel and didn’t misplace a single pass. In fact it was him intercepting a hun pass in our half that led to the second goal. He also won a fantastic header which put Griffiths through who should have scored.

Found the criticism of him bizarre and haven’t changed my mind after watching it again. 2 out of his 3 bad moments occurred when it was 5-0 and we were cruising. There was more good than bad with him yesterday and in general he played well.

A well-informed and very balanced assessment.
He is also as tough a guy as I have seen; shrugs off all sorts of knocks. Just wants to play and cement his place in the team. I recall when he got injured at Kilmarnock - he simply didn't want to come off.

I have been critical of him on here but he has character.

Exactly. He made some mistakes but was mostly good. To say he was 'carried' is an absolute pile of dung.

Given you were that pished you thought he was playing right back, I'm happy with my assessment.

He did misplace a back pass to Gordon which he put straight out for a shy btw.
