Does any of the older generation think he is a wee bit like big Cesar ?
Really?

:nono:
Big Billy's game was winning everything in the air and greatly timed tackles. Playing on the deck was left to John Clark and others.

We are really vulnerable at corners and set pieces at the moment and missing that dominant centre half who wins headers in both boxes.

Ps nothing like him, apart from they both played for Celtic :)
Exactly. Absolutely stupid comparison.

Hes been excellent recently, probably standing even more so considering how poor others have been at times, our form player at the moment.

Hopefully whenever Commper is fit its Jozo that makes way (particuarly after yesterdays horror show) and not Ajer.

He looks to be maturing into a very decent CB, good on the ball also, brings the ball out from the back very well at times. Probably just as well he has stepped up to the plate recently considering the injuries and poor/inconsistent form of other defenders at Celtic just now.

Just thinking back to his first games earlier in the season you can see the progress he's made. He's less raw now, more composed and looking a more natural fit for the position.

He's still young and fairly inexperienced, though. There's a decent chance he'll hit a dodgy patch - at which point we need to be patient and let him work through it. Has the talent. We just need to be careful - give him the opportunity and support to develop, but don't put too much pressure or expectation on him just yet.
Patience. On KDS.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 He’ll be pish by Thursday and in the same taxi as Rodgers

Would like to see him play more on the right hand side if we persist with Lustig. His recovery pace could be a valuable asset.

He's got huge potential. Reminds me of Jack Rodwell when he initially broke into Everton's team as a young centre half, before injuries, money and Sunderland destroyed him. Very calm and composed, could easily slot into midfield...

I recklessly proclaimed at half time yesterday " that guy will play for Real Madrid or Barca one day"

Maybe i got a bit carried away mind you .

Certainly a future captain of the Hoops ( if he's here long enough) and Norway though. Great player.

Don't think there's much chance of us being patient. People apparently taking an active dislike to Lustig now.

:ponder: wooshed?

Rodwell is and always has been a centre mid - Ajer was a CM converted to centre back
I fully agree with your last sentence

Nah, he was a centre half for Everton's youth team and when he broke into the first team he played at centre half for the first few games, except for one European tie where he bizarrely played on the right wing. But Moyes either didn't trust him at centre half because he was so calm and composed, or thought he'd make a better midfielder for the same reasons and he never played centre half again. Around the same time, he let Shkodran Mustafi rot in the reserves before letting him leave on a free, and never gave Eric Dier a game either despite him being very impressive for the reserves. He liked to stick with Distin and Jagielka at centre half no matter what.
