Still early but he does looks good - he doesnt panic, is strong, and decent with the ball. He makes Jozo look like the junior in the partnership.

Need to remember he's young and could easily hit the wall at some point.

A real talent though.
If he hits the wall all the king's horses and all the king's men won't be able to put it together again. He is a great player and I think he will develop into the sort of monster centre-half who could empty players without it being a foul.

Great performance from the young lad. Let's see how he develops. One of the best things about him was that during the game it was Ajer who was coaching Jozo. Constantly giving him information and telling him where to go.

On the head knock - it shows how far football still has to go. That was a bad one and I don't think he should have been playing on. Yes he was bandaged up and there was probably some assessment done on the park but he basically walked off to change the jersey and walked back on. We've come no further than Terry Butcher back in 1989 - nearly 30 years ago!

Excellent performance again from the young man and one which makes me genuinely think that he's the answer to the CH issue we've had since VVD left. He come out with the ball, loves putting himself into a tackle and can read the game very well. Currently his speed isn't up to the same level as the other facets of his game for me but he's improving everything all the time so I wouldn't be surprised if that followed suit.

I'm hoping that with Compper next to him we're set for the next 18 months.

He has the makings of a top class defender, still makes the odd mistake here and there but considering he is still learning a new role his potential is huge. I also love how he drives into space like VVD used to do

Just thinking back to his first games earlier in the season you can see the progress he's made. He's less raw now, more composed and looking a more natural fit for the position.

He's still young and fairly inexperienced, though. There's a decent chance he'll hit a dodgy patch - at which point we need to be patient and let him work through it. Has the talent. We just need to be careful - give him the opportunity and support to develop, but don't put too much pressure or expectation on him just yet.
Patience. On KDS.

Reminds of Baresi in his prime.
Only stronger, more comfortable on the ball and with better awareness of the game than the Italian.

Big Billy's game was winning everything in the air and greatly timed tackles. Playing on the deck was left to John Clark and others.

We are really vulnerable at corners and set pieces at the moment and missing that dominant centre half who wins headers in both boxes.

Ps nothing like him, apart from they both played for Celtic :)
