Would someone with more technical savvy than me please take that down. It's an utter embarrassment.

I see his Wiki page has been updated...

'He then travelled on a pilgrimage to Lisbon where he met the great and most knowlegable one, Billy McNeill, who through meditation and shamanic repeats of 'this land is your land' and 'the Willy Maley song' revealed to young Ajer his destiny, to sign for Celtic, which he duly did. He then entered the gates of Paradise, where he vanquished the evil magician, Pistol Pete with a Ronny Roar to the baws..'
Imagine going out for pints with the people who do these wiki updates. It must be horrendous. "What did ye dae last night? I seen Deuce Bigelow was on. Classic! I watched that and then tweeted "Shat on title" at Gary Linekar."

I wish them a slow and agonising death.

Wiki is a good resource. It's a shame when it is misused by unfunny cretins.

We have an array of attacking midfielders but are definitely short in the defensive midfield bracket.

This guy fits the bill, he will hopefully add a bit of steel to the midfield. He's widely recognised as a great talent around Europe and has been monitored by some massive clubs plus he looks like an absolute machine. On paper this a great signing.

Quite a few highly regarded youth players now.
Christie, Tierney, Rogic, Ajer, Janko, Jozo, Roberts (for 18 months), Nesbitt, Henderson.

That's 8 all well under 23 I think.
Griffiths, Erik, Bitton, Johansen, Allan & Armstrong are a little older but well under 25.

certainly trying to build a squad from the bottom up, but at least some of the recent signings are highly regarded & Erik does look like class.

I'd like to see us try out a good young team in a few games, in their best positions to see how they get on.

Roberts, Christie & Allan getting runs in the development team will hopefully move on apace.

Anyway, welcome big man - hope you get some games.

Edit for fun :

Fasan

Janko
Jozo
Erik
Tierney

Henderson
Ajer

Christie
Rogic
Roberts

Griffiths

What's this, about 21/22 average age?

Thats Nir Bitton away in the Summer then...Hope his form improves so we can pocket another 6-8 Million for Pistol Pete....

Welcome aboard Ajer think this could be a great buy if the reports I'm hearing are correct..Roma were mad to get this young guy tied up!

Signing this lad as a cheap and possible replacement for Biton in a year or so ?
If the plan is to make good money off Bitton, he needs to up his game big time.
Agree, teams were looking at him from down south pre Christmas, Sunderland, Southampton & Swansea scouts were at the Motherwell game, but his form has really dipped, especially after he signed new contract, and I doubt we would get anything near 10 million this summer if his form doesn't improve... With Henderson coming back and Ajer part of the squad, wouldn't be bad business selling him for decent money come summer.

Surely not some master plan being hatched by board and manager? What next?

Clearly sabotaging any attempts from Ronny to sign his own players now :nono:

Incidentally without turning this into another TW thread - he's still head of medicine at the club, he's just been removed from first team game duties.

Seen a Norwegian Twitter poster suggest ajer could be converted to a centre half, would be such a Celtic thing to do.

Hope we don't turn him into Charlie Mulgrew Mark 2. Jack of all trades, master of none.

He's top drawer potential in football manager I believe, so clearly he must be good. Regardless, this is the kind of signing I can get behind.

You know one area where I think Deila has gone wrong is that he has tried to introduce more Scottish players to the team. I know he doesn't have full control of signings but we have signed more Scottish players under him than under Lennon. He seems to have realised too late that Scottish players are mostly shampooe.
it was a stated objective when he arrived, to make Celtic a younger, more Scottish team
