I thought he did very well tonight and brought the ball out from the back well.

Defensively, he wasn’t great.

Still got a long, long way to go. Wouldn't have expected anything else at this stage.

I think he'll drop out for Compper.

The stick he was getting in the match thread was mental.

He came into the team and the defence shored up instantly. 6 consecutive clean sheats.

Had a blip tonight but he’s 19 and has only been playing in this position for a year. He will make mistakes and learn from them.

Slow progress but progress being made. Will reap the rewards in time.

Until tonight we've kept clean sheets, but teams have been creating very good chances against us. Not saying that's Ajer's fault specifically but he has been at fault at times, however the whole defence is on a massive wobble at the moment.

No idea how Boyata is bulletproof. Glad he thinks he's better than us and he can leave in the summer.

Thought he looked suspect at times to be honest, the way he drove forward in the 2nd half at times was excellent though. I'm still not sure if he would be better playing a bit further up the park.

Ajer will improve with Compper, a double whammy.

Boyata has had the best 1/2 season of his life & then deteriorated - he won't get better & is 7 years older.

Bullied, out jumped and out paced by Connor Sammon. Worrying.

Passing in first half wasn’t great either.

If he’s going to be a centre half, he needs to learn quickly.

Maybe another spell on Loan might have been the answer this season but I'm still hopeful he will come good. Not sure anyone realistically expected him to be first choice so soon having switched roles but it's badly needed experience and over time it should all add up

Still improving. He will become a class CB during the next 2 seasons.

He's got a lot of terrific attributes, two to three years and I agree we will likely have another valuable asset in our hands.

You are asking fans on a message board to curtail their need to lambast for two whole seasons ? Are you mental ?

Boyata is afforded time by some in his late twenties because he hasn’t played a huge amount of football in his career.

Ajer is 19 and learning a new position but needs to learn quickly.

Hmm

He is too slow to be a quality centre half.

That moment when Sammon ran him down the line said every thing.

He’s not too bad facing the ball but turn him and he’s toast.

Nowhere near as bad as some are making out tonight. He will have games like this at times but he is well worth sticking with especially over boyata.

Should have been out the door on loan at the start of the season for first team football.

I got roasted for saying he was slow. Rodgers has described him as 'quick' and I just don't get it. I have seen milk turn quicker. He might be fine when he gets up a gallop but over the first couple of yards - which are the yards that really matter for a defender - he just isn't quick enough.
