I thought he played very well today. Great composure on the ball.

Did well, didn't do a lot wrong... lack of pace possibly down to a fairly heavy pitch. Good to see him composed on the ball and looking to play it out of defence rather than an aimless hoof up the park.

He was fine. I think some are getting a bit carried away but the signs are positive.

Looks more of a midfielder to me. His ability to run with the ball is great but when he loses it - as inevitably you will do sometimes when taking on four or five players at once - better teams will punish us if he’s the last man.

Really encouraging run of games from him. He appears a switched on lad who will learn from every game he plays.

When he improves his positional sense it will completely negate any lack of pace.

Some of the greatest defenders ever had a lack of pace but made up for it by being a step ahead of the forwards.

saw a bit of the rawness you would expect from a young guy but still reasonably solid.

did struggle a little with the pace of the game at times but as others have alluded to, this will become less of an issue with greater experience

I remember when Pique left United to join Barca, there was unanimous agreement on Red Cafe that Pique would never make it on great stage because he's too slow. There was another CB of his age at United, who was hailed far better (and faster). Slow as he is, and he's really slow, Pique made it big time. The other guy, the fast one, maybe made it, but he didn't made it enough for me to remember his name.

As Xavi would say, better to think faster than run faster.

Is it maybe Johnny Evans? He’s about the same age as Pique.

Not really worried about his lack of pace. He's the perfect CB for this system we play and that'll do me. Also very good in the air.

He was really good today. Love his marauding runs. Keep sending him in. Getting better with every game.

He’s exactly what we need for our system someone who can step up with ball with confidence. Simonuvic can do it to. . Great prospect. Didn’t like when he went to ground on the edge of box to trap the ball when two huns closing him down . He got away with it but looked like he could have been outnumbered in dangerous position. Just boot it out. But still learning,

Our best centre half. Concerning that it took so long for him to get in the team.

He played well but he needs a left sided CB beside him. You'd think boyata would have played as the LCB as the more experienced player of the two...

Overall today he played well

But at least three times in the second half he lost his marker, and it almost led to a goal

Hes young and he`ll learn in time, hopefully

I thought he was ok. Got caught on the ball a couple of times. Lost Morelos for their two big chances. Apart from that his passing was good and he did well in his first sevco match.
Agree
