He has earned the right to start in some bigger games for us - starting with Saturday.

We'll never know how good he is until he is regularly playing against the better opposition in the league.

Do we think his move to CB has been good for him? He looks like he could be quality in the DMC position bursting forward. Happy to say that the management team know more than me about Ajer but I'd be interested to see him in there as well at some point.
Would rather have him at CB. I know he can play both but he seems like more of a CB to me. Has played well in most of the games I've seen him in. Don't see why he shouldn't start on Saturday.
He's doing very well at CB.

I just like the way he strides with the ball and he's got an eye for a forward pass. He moved into midfield for Killie a few times last season and ran the show. He's spent his whole career up until last season as a midfielder so it's impressive how he has been able to adapt at such a young age.
Yeh. I think Rodgers prefers all his players to be good with the ball at their feet, including the keeper. Ajer looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet thanks to his midfield experience, but I think he's still more suited to CH. Can only serve him well being able to play multiple roles as well.

Looks very confident player when on the ball, especially from a lad born in 1998!

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepseems like more of a CB to me. Has played well in most of the games I've seen him in. Don't see why he shouldn't start on Saturday.

Get the feeling Rodgers doesn't fancy him and he's only playing the odd game due to lack of defensive options. I've been impressed every time I've seen him start, he is so composed on the ball and for a midfielder converted to CB he reads the game very well defensively. I'd throw him in against Aberdeen on Saturday and see how he copes with the physicality of the game.

Done enough to earn a run ahead of Jozo until at least the winter break.

He has but I think we'll see Jozo for the sheep and huns games.

That run in the 2nd half was outstanding, he looks a superb prospect.

His drive out from the back, his great footwork and his passing ability make him an ideal weapon against this new found press that Hearts have apparently patented.

However he hasn't been tested defensively, really, and whoever he plays next to at the moment will definitely be a midden of a player and he will really need guided through games at points.

Thought he was composed and confident last night. His willingness and ability to drive forward is a plus for when teams apply pressure on the backline. Worth a run in the team based on the form of Boyata and Jozo I think. Doubt it will happen though.

He looks composed and really promising. It's a strange one, and it might be due to his size, but sometimes he looks pretty slow...but he doesn't seem to get caught out too much so maybe he isn't actually slow.
he is certainly not slow that's for sure

Was he in Boyata's regular spot yesterday (left side)? Boyata taking up the right hand side now and Ajer filling in until Compper can play? Jozo definitely for the off? Find out next week... on The Twilight Zone!

He really was very, very highly rated before we got him. Had an excellent spell at Kilmarnock where they raved about him, and he's now breaking in to our first team at young age. Bit to go yet, but I think he will turn out to be another big money maker for us yet.

I think he’ll get a run in the team now. Others have said we don’t know how yet how he will handle it when under pressure.
Tynecastle was the first domestic game this season when the centre backs had opposition players in about them for lengthy spells and the pair of them were all over the place which if we be honest, was no real surprise.

Ajer did very well at Kilmarnock where he must have been under the cosh far more than our defenders are. I hope he’s playing tomorrow.

I like Ajer. he seems to have great confidence for such a young guy in a key position.
He would be in my team ahead of Simunovic.

Nonsense to say the manager doesnt fancy him. His limited games is because he is a young guy just getting bloodied to the game. Five starts by end of December isn't bad in his first real season at 20 years old isn't bad.
