Needs another good run of 20 or so games if possible, preferably in the Championship down south, but if not I'd phone Steve Clarke or Owen Coyle both of whom are decent coaches to see if they fancy taking him on loan.

If Ronny had not had faith in KT and put him in, even when Izzy was available, he would not have developed as quickly or as well as he has. Ajer has much more experience than KT when he got his chance. If Brendan reckons he has what it takes then it may be a good investment to give him a good number of games in the second half of the season. It's a risk as it won't always go well, but it may stand us in much better stead for next season. Will be interesting to see if we buy a centre half in January. If we do that would suggest he will not get many games, in which case a loan would be best.

I thought Ajer played really well in Saturday and was excellent carrying the ball forward from defence. However, he needs more game time before any firm conclusions can be drawn.

Agreed. I think that game time would be best with us, though, rather than going out on loan. He's going to fit better in our team in the long term if he continues to develop playing the way we want to play, rather than going to somewhere like Killie and being exhorted to boot it into row ZZ every time the ball comes anywhere near him. He's got enough about him now to be included in the team for at least SPFL games, and we'll doubtless need him next time Jozo breaks down while brushing his teeth, so keep him here and get him in the team more often.

I am still amazed at how much he has bulked up. When he signed he looked like a tall skinny teenager but now he looks like hes been hitting the gym hard.

I don't think he will be sent out on loan, I think he'll be given more game time in the remaining home games to help him get up to speed with the way we play and build his experience.

Having my seat in the upper Celtic end behind the goals, you could see quite clearly that Brown and Ntcham were pulling their markers to the side leaving a huge gap for Ajer to step forward into. Think it was definitely tactical from Brendan.

Ajer I think is more than capable to play at CB against the majority of SPFL teams as long as he has a recognised Centre Back beside him.

He still has a way to go but will only get there with games. I think we will see a lot more of him in the last 3rd of the season.

Assuming he's fit, he should be preparing for Wednesday.

No way he's making the mistakes Jozo has recently.

Simply has to play - in the place of Jozo.

There’s 4 games to go until the transfer window opens. We simply cannot persist with the Jozo/Boyata partnership until then. If Brendan does not fancy Erik then he should give Ajer a go, he certainly seems to have the tools and can actually play out from the back.

My only concern would be how he handles the Rangers game. I know they are pish but it’s still a high pressure tense game with a potentially intimidating atmosphere. You can only throw him and see how he handles it though...

Can't dominate in the air the way Boyata does and is possibly too nice to launch Miller into space the way Jozo has, so I don't think Ajer is knocking on the door for a permanent place at CB. That being said he still deserves a chance. The current pair just had what might be their worst game for us and even if BR is confident that it's a blip and they'll soon be much improved, one or both deserves to be dropped for such awful form.

Him and Bitton should undoubtedly be starting against Thistle.

I don't give a eff that they're both still learning the centre half position at the moment, it's not like they've been significantly worse this season than Simunovic & Boyata who've been playing it for years, and those two seriously need to understand that their places in the side aren't automatic just because we have no other "proper" centre halves & the manager doesn't like Sviatchenko.

One mistake when he got caught under the ball around 80 mins. Solid otherwise, more worried about the other central defenders tbh
