A good prospect but understandably not ready yet for Champions League football.

Tonight's a great learning curve for him all the same.

Unless Ajer is playing beside an experienced Centre Half, please do not play him against ANY half decent teams, the boy has still a long, long way to go.

I laugh to myself as people rave about strolling through a game against feckin Kilmarnock. In the friendly against Lyon, his frailties were blatantly obvious.
The friendly against Lyon, when he played beside Nir Bitton.

Maybe keep them apart.
Definitely keep them apart unless it's Kris Boyd, but Ajer is far from being ready for any big game.

He'll be fine, for the most part, alongside a proper centre half. But he and Bitton together should never ever happen again.

He, like Bitton, is a converted midfielder and so doesn't have the instincts of a defender. He has the potential but would probably benefit from another loan if we have enough cover.

Thought he was probably least culpable of the back 4 tonight.

Can't blame him for second half goals. Wouldn't blame him for deflected goal either. Think Lustig should have shut him down quicker

Hard ask throwing him in to a high level tie without a proper defensive partner.

He's got much to learn.

He'll be fine if he's playing along side an actual CB.

Harsh to judge him on a night where experienced players around him (who are meant to support him) didn't cover themselves in glory.

Having said that, I still think he'd benefit from another season out on loan.

A little disappointed that the quality of Kris' performance was overshadowed by the ensuing chaos around him. I know he has a lot to learn but his positioning passing and subtle physical handling of awkward opponents was textbook. I'd much rather he learned alongside Simunovic than Broadfoot while integrating with an exciting squad under a wise manager. Unless the loan was to the level of Bournemouth, Brighton or an Augsburg where I'd trust the coaching staff to bring him on, I just don't think his potential will be realised.

Saw he scored an OG and thiught he'd be getting some stick but looks like Bitton, Lustig and Gordon are getting the brunt of it.

Apart from the OG did he do ok?
He didnt play well, but it was a freak deflection. It wasnt exactly up there with some of Gary Caldwell's finest.

Difficult when you don't have an experienced player beside you communicating and helping you through the game.

He was ok. Like Ralston and miller we would really want him to have 20-30 spfl games under his belt before he appears again at away fixtures in the cl. And even then you would these guys playing beside much more experienced players. We were down to the bare bones last night and the team should be given some slack.

No, it's fairly simple. Nothing wrong with saying he had a good game v Killie, it's folk going way over the top about it, when basically he was up against a fat, imobile, 34 years old Kris Boyd.

Ajer has the potential but nowhere near ready for key games, and as said previously, definitely not without an experienced Centre Half playing beside him.

Cant fault the lad for lack of experience, he needs more game time this season.

Kristoffer Ajer has been restricted to playing in Celtic this season, but showed he has taken great steps in the U21 national team's 3-1 win against Germany.

The Norwegian stallion has only received one match match for Celtic so far this season, as well as two games in the championship qualification, including one fight against Rosenborg.

The 19-year-old admits that Norway's U21 national team gives important combat training.

- It has been limited by playing time. Then these battles are extremely important to me. I exercise crazy well and I feel I'm taking a step all the time, so I'm very fit, Ajer insures NTB after the 3-1 win against Germany.

The former Start player does not get stressed by the lack of playing time.

"It is a situation where it is the Champions League team, I am 19 years old and I play midstoppers. It is clear that the playing time is limited. I've played seven games already in Celtic, which has been crazy for me, and I know I'm taking steps every single day.

Former Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City player Kolo Touré added before this season to become part of the support system for Brendan Rodgers in Scotland. Ajer says that he trains the ivorian every day after training.

"I know that I'm taking steps with the support I'm training with, and with Kolo Touré, as I work out every day after training, I'm in a very good place and then I get here and show that development is good .

Last season, Ajer spent on loans in Scottish Kilmarnock. He has not thought whether a new lending is expected when the transitional window opens again.

- We have not taken a decision. The window will be in January, so we will have a discussion then.
