A lot of negatives last night but a 19 year old debutant centre back was not one of them. Did fine and looking forward to seeing how he progresses.

Think we'd do well to remember the lad is still a teenager. He only turned 19 in April. Almost 2 years younger than O'Connell was at this stage last year. He's got everything he needs to be a great player for us if we can afford him the game time to develop.

19 year old making his European debut with Celtic helping us to a clean sheet being slated. Brilliant.

Our clean sheet was due to woeful finishing from Rosenborg.

That said, Ajer wasn't too bad for a debutant He has the physicality and ball skills to do well. Hopefully he can be the find of the season.

Don't know where he's been slated. Majority of posters saying he did fine but obviously has room for improvement.

I thought he did well. Of all the young players that are "ready" to become part of the first team picture, he's the obvious one to me.

Looked decent. Emergency CF for next week then?

Ajer will be a decent back up once we sign a quality centre back in the next month.

Give the boy a few games and let's see if he is confident and capable enough to hold on to his place. He looks to me like a good player, who needs time to get to know how everyone else plays.

I was talking to someone about that earlier. He spent most of the last 6 months at his previous club playing up front didn't he?

He was playing behind the striker but pretty much up front. I won a few quid off him first goal scorer cos the bookies priced him playing cm

Nonsense.

Young lad done well but that's a sweeping statement to make based on 1 appearance against what was a distinctly average side.

Like many, I was really impressed with him last night. For a 19 year old playing his first game in the Champions League, he did really well. He looks a great prospect for the future.

Wonder if he'll still end up out on loan this season after that?

Good debut for the lad, should help his confidence - maybe the only positive from last night

Thought he did well and was glad he got the start.

Seemed a little nervous at times and would have liked him to be more assertive, but that could be said about most of our players on Wednesday.

I also thought some of the calls against him vs. Bendtner were a little harsh.

Ref conned him and the ref into a few easy fouls. Ref really should have been better but Ajer will learn in time.
