Surprised he was allowed to go to a club with a plastic pitch. Hopefully he gets plenty of game time and takes the chance to skelp Sevco
Probably grew up on plastic pitches as do most players in Scandinavia now.
True! Given BR recent comments on plastic pitches I would have thought he'd have preferred to have him playing on grass. I think location was a big factor in the decision to send him to Killie, wouldn't want to up route the boy again
Apparently Start's home ground is a plastic pitch

I hope the loan goes well for the lad. He looks a good prospect, if not yet fully grown into his body, and has the attributes to become a very good ball playing defender for us.

I've got my doubts that this is the right call but got to trust Brendan. Will be good to see how he plays against Sevco Hearts and Aberdeen.

Could well be the making or breaking of the lad.

Could also, well be just what he needs.

Came here wi RocketRonnie's praises ringing in his ears, as a highly touted prospect.

Now he needs to grasp the nettle wi both hands.

Good luck to him.

I know absolutely nothing about him but still want him to play in midfield rather than centre back. Seems quite weird that a footballer just accepts that change of position. Will look out for him though if he gets regular games

I suppose my first thought was a bit of an extreme example. Of someone saying to Kris Commons that he would be playing, but he'd be playing somewhere that didn't facilitate him having 30 shots on goal. I couldn't see him taking that too well.
Surely every player has a preferred position - or do some just accept that it beats having a real job?

Incidentally, wtf is a Shooting Guard? Is that a defensive midfielder?

edit : where the hell did that other post go, quoting a "Shooting Guard" ?

I his interviews, he sounds convinced that CD is the future for him - not only at Celtic, but also long turn.

Shooting Guard is a position in basketball - I took the post to be a reference to Ajer's height.

I guess a mod decided it was a bit too obscure a reference even for KDS

Its good that Brendan sees him in his plans after this loan period, so in that respect I hope Christopher does well till the end of the season.

Choice of club to loan him out to is questionable though, a bunch of hun sympathisers.

Mjallby played centre midfield until we signed him.

We signed him as a midfielder, and I presumed that this is where he prefers to play. It's hardly controversial enough for your little dramatic moment there

Antonio Valencia at Man U is another one. An obviously attacking player who would previously have been wide right in a 4-2-3-1, but plays as a right back now for Man U. Not even an Agathe style wingback in a 3-5-2, but RB in a back four having to think of keeping a defensive line to play someone offside etc. Not something we trouble Sinclair, Forrest or Roberts with in our team.

Most of Agathe's games for us were as a right back in a back four. But I take your point - it's unusual for players to be established in one position and then adopt a totally different position and establish themselves there as well. Not really relevant to Ajer though, who doesn't sound as though he's ever established himself in any position. Hopefully that means he's a more well-rounded player than someone who's grown up only learning one position.

It wasn't until his 4th season that we started playing a back 4, the next 2 seasons he didn't get many games.

True - I realised after I posted that I was making two different points  The first is just that we signed a young guy as a central midfielder, and in my ignorance I presumed that this was his favourite position and he'd want to continue there. Hence, I want to see him play there.

But some geezer said I'm not allowed to think that

Good opportunity for the lad to find his feet to get some first team experience and probably more importantly some exposure to this league.

Come back in one piece.

He is now a central defender, he will get lots of practice at Killie! He looks technically a decent player so this is probably good chance to see how he stands up against Scottish fitbaws finest knuckle draggers

Exactly. Will afford the bhoy the opportunity to showcase his skills, and if good enough return to fight for his place in time.
