CROCKED Celtic starlet Kieran Tierney is OUT of tomorrow's showdown at Aberdeen.

And SunSport Online understands there are now also growing concerns over his availability for Tuesday night’s crunch Champions League tie against Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany and Scotland’s vital World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley on November 11.

Young player of the year Tierney badly twisted his ankle in training and amid fears of ligament damage it’s believed was sent for a scan at a private hospital in Glasgow this morning.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful it’s not a serious problem and the 19-year-old left-back is wearing a special protective boot.

Outstanding prospect Tierney - over 50 first team games in a year including Champions League and Europa League plus two Scotland caps - was quickly ruled out of Pittodrie.

But also being sidelined for a number of weeks would be a major blow for both Rodgers and Scotland boss Gordon Strachan who is already without Andy Robertson for the game against the English which we need to win to keep alive our hopes of making Russia 2018.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool target Tierney was rested for Wednesday night’s 4-0 win over Ross County in Dingwall - one of eight changes Rodgers made - and was replaced by Emilio Izaguirre who is now likely to keep his place against the Dons.

It’s the first major blow for the academy graduate within his sensation rise to stardom over the last 12 months.

Tierney, however, demonstrated his strength of character two years ago when he made a rapid recovery from a horror broken ankle just as he was beginning to come into the top team picture.

He made his competitive debut for Scotland in the 3-0 qualifying defeat to Slovakia in Trnava a fortnight ago and was certain to start against England.

Now his and Robertson’s absence has potentially left the door open for Rangers captain Lee Wallace to come in for the titanic clash against the Three Lions.

shampooe but at least he has proven his worth and knows he will be in the first team when back. LB in January? Izzy might struggle to play every game with our schedule

Not always.

There seems to be an awful lot of guesswork with this, everything between broken ankle and being a doubt for Tuesday.
Let's wait and see what Celtic say, and leave the race to be right on the Internet to others

We can't go buying a player every time one gets injured. Worst case scenario is Tierney being out for a couple of months. He's still a kid, his bones will grow quickly.

Izzy is a capable replacement, even if he has to cover for Tierney for months rather than weeks.

Who said we will buy every time a player gets injured?

We have plenty of cover in midfield and upfront(if we include Sinclair) so if one gets injured someone can step in and we are not down to bare bones.

If Tierney is out for months and we only have one LB we should sign backup and/or a replacement. Who would play LB if Izzy got injured ?

Izzy should be a fine replacement . If Rodgers can get the best from guys like Brown and Forrest then you've got to fancy Izzy stepping in and performing well.

Gutted for the wee man but yon sport scientist will hopefully earn his keep here. If this happened last season, it would be a much greater worry.

Dang... not good news. He's been a stand out player for us for best part of a year now.

If there is any good news then it is that Saidy Janko's is NOT being recalled from his loan spell... which I think was to a Subway franchise. His Foot long Meatball Mariana is consistently 2 inches short.

Izzy is a decent replacement no doubt. Serious question though, who will cover for Izzy if KT is out for a few months. Maybe Gamboa but he looks very one footed. Have we any decent left back options in the development squad. What about Tony Ralston, could he play lb?
