:worthy: :worthy: He is the real thing.
Love the Broony quote in that article

"I love the wee man, he's as hard as nails. He'd tackle his granny and he'd go into any situation and thrive just because of his attitude. He's a born winner, a born leader and he's a great young lad to come through at Celtic."

To be fair James Forrest once made that list and last year they had some youth player of ours called Calvin Miller on it.

Still thought, great that the young lad is being recognised. I love him.

Edit - If he is from the Isle Of Man, how does he qualify for a Scotland cap? Is his family Scottish or has he been schooled here for 5 years or more?
The Isle of Man is closer to Scotland than England so it's ours
It was ours following the Treaty of Perth (1266) eventually ceded to the English in 1399.

Never been part of Great Britain or the United Kingdom though

One of the rare bright lights this season. His assist for the 2nd goal this season summed his maturity. He received the ball with no fecker near him and rather than launch it forward or try to go on a solo run up the wing (there were 2 ICT players ahead of him), he chose instead to come inside, look up and pick out Griffiths who had dropped into some space at the edge of the box with a low pass. Mature head on young shoulders. Sorry Izzy, you're not getting the LB spot back on a regular basis for a long time.

Love this guy. My only concern is that we rely on him too much and he burns out.

MotM again yesterday. You'd think some of the senior players might be thinking that they should up their effort to match the 18yo.

Just his use of the ball he has to work on. He's filling out as well.

He's snubbing everyone to line up for the Isle of Mann!

Great game today. I'd like to see him be more confident with his passing out of tight positions but on the whole he is really promising.

Hard as eff too.
Would help him if others made themselves available for a pass.
I actually think his composure in tight spaces is one of his best attributes. He was pinned in at his own corner flag at one point yesterday by a couple of ICT players calmly spun away, made space, and found Gordon. A lesser player would've just hoofed up up the line.
Tierney still has a bit habit of doing that. In my opinion it's a confidence thing and something he's doing less and less.

Once he's able to dribble into space in order to find a pass he'll start looking much better than he already does.

i was talking to him in the dakota a few weeks ago and he has as broad a glasgow accent as you'll ever hear so he must've been living in scotland for a few years at least.

i'm not sure if his family moved over when he was younger or he moved over himself when he signed pro-youth.

ps he was a ball boy when we beat barca so he has been living there for at least that time.

Spent the first six months of his life on The Isle of Man apparently.

Regarding nationality, because the Isle of Man isn't a member of UEFA/FIFA he can opt to play for any UK country he wishes, I believe. If that is the case, get him capped before England start sniffing around please, WGS (though I can't imagine we have to worry about him not choosing Scotland tbh).

wouldn't worry too much about england or wales but by the sound of his name he could have irish stock so the republic snatching him would be my concern.

Having Irish stock, oh the shame.
Young Tierney is more than welcome to play left back for us. I once drank a pint of cheap stout called Tierneys and there was a fella in my science class called that very name. That makes him qualify.

don't get your knickers in a twist over my choice of words. you're making a false presumption.

i'm of irish stalk as well, my mother was irish. i've an irish passport.

he's a good player, clearly with a very bright future. why would ireland not enquire about him?
