Struggled at the start with nerves but he is 19 and facing Messi, to be expected. He settled as the game went on.

The proof of how far he can go is if he is able to learn from these experiences and improve. We are lucky, we have a young talent on our hands and we get to see if he can go further.

We waited a long time for this kind of performance.

Move on.
Meaning?
He was pish but he's young and still learning the game. Forget it he'll get better.

Tonight proved how far he has to go.

He was dreadful tonight. Completely overawed.
I thought he was really shown up physically last night. He looked like a small boy playing against men. Hopefully he will learn from the experience and improve. it does show he is young, has lots of potential but has a long way to go.

The last thing he needs is dropped.

If he's fit, he needs to play. Let the boy make his mistakes.

He's not bad on the ball. He's bad on the ball in his own half. Some of his intricate passing in the final third is outstanding. His crossing is excellent.

The problem tonight was we never got out of our half, so the poor aspect of his game was accentuated.
Big difference between being dropped and rested and he needs rested.

Carrying an injury and he's played a lot of football already this season, the ICT and Killie games are a chance to rest a few players.

Took a while to settle into the game, think the occasion of playing in that stadium against they guys out of his FIFA 16 Ultimate Team got to him

No complaints though, he's a young boy still learning and it was his first Champions League game was up against some of the greatest players in the world

He needs to concentrate fully for every second and react to what is going on around him. For the first goal he was behind Biton when Neymar(?) had the ball at the corner of the box. When Biton went to the edge of the box with Brown he might have thought Kieran would still be there behind him. After all we were under attack. But Kieran had decided to get himself back to left back. That's what left the huge space for Messi.

I still think he's a great young player.

There is no doubt in my mind he will be better for this. It probably won't feel that way just now. Looking back to when he first started playing games regularly with the first team, he struggled with his fitness and now looks to have bulked up a wee bit already too. Last night will have shown him how much further he has to go...and I don't think that needs to be a negative.

A very good wee player with plenty of room for improvement. Not bad at all.

His hopeful punts up the line were evident again last night but when you're right on the touchline with two Barcelona players closing you down I don't know what else he's meant to do. He was poor, but he's young and hopefully will learn from it.

Between this and the return leg if we see any defensive improvements, either individually, tactically or in our organisation it'll be a positive. Anything that helps keep Barca at bay will only help make him even better domestically.

The defensive side of his game isn't the greatest but he should improve this with experience

So Broonie wasn't concentrating either then.

He looked spooked, and at one point in the first half panicked and almost hit fresh air when he was clearing. If we're looking for weak links, however, he's not the first name I'd go to.

Best thing about that that fresh air swipe was that Suarez nicked it off him then did the exact same thing

He certainly made Pique wince and hobble a bit. KT just continued with the game like nothing had happened.

I thought the formation we played limited the passing options for both our fullbacks/wingbacks and they both suffered as a result.

Young kid like a rabbit in the headlights last night - he's been a real positive since making his breakthrough, he'll learn for last night I'm sure.

He wasn't the only one looking shell-shocked during the game - far more experienced players were also just as poor.

He did do some things well last night, and tried to get down the wing when he could although he didn't play well overall
He has improved a lot in a year and hopefully he will keep doing so

I thought he was completely overawed and played very poorly, but he's a kid and will do better next time. Needs to get fit though.

Felt a bit sorry for him at that point.

He held on to the ball, calmly I thought, looking for someone to pass to. No-one made themselves available at all, and before he knew it there were 3 Barca players surrounding him and he ended up trying to launch it with his wrong foot and hit an air shot instead.

Could have done with some help from the more experienced players.
