The InTheKnowers is a new Channel 4 comedy series about 4 online KDS Celtic Da's, who ain't quite cool enough for the Huddleboard, but not quite sad enough for CQN*. The characters are
- Sean: comes from a middle class background. He's less intelligent than he likes to think and spends most of his time wittering on about UEFA coefficients, pointless statistics, and various other bits and pieces that no one else gives a shampoo about.
- Thomas: the 'know it all' of the group, or so he thinks. Constantly invents transfer rumours so that people think he's got contacts at the club. Pretends he's there home and away, week in, week out - when his posting history suggests he's always just at home in front of his computer. Once had a trial with Celtic, but was asked by Henrik Larsson not to come back as he was showing everyone up.
- Peter: The social media addict. Posts relentlessly on Twitter, Facebook, the Forums, everywhere - but usually about Rangers. Obsessed with one particular celtic supporting twitter babe, Bernadette, who he stalks follows closely online.
- Michael: Not the sharpest tool in the box, Michael is the only one who believes Thomas' transfer rumours, and will defend them well beyond the point that the player signs a 10 year contract with Juventus. Constantly teased that he's so slow and gullible that he should be a Rangers fan. Still has a freezer full of ice cream.
Tune in to episode 1 - much hilarity ensues when the Da's travel to Easter Road for a game and Michael forgets the tickets. The Da's suggest to Thomas that he uses his friendship with Neil Lennon to get them into the stadium. But did Thomas really teach Neil Lennon everything he knows about football management through co-op games of Football Manager, as he claims?
*note: no offence to CQN. I just needed another celtic site, and since it couldn't be the prawn sandwich loving KDS, I went for you. You forgot the disclaimer: "Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental."

Delighted interest has cooled. I had nearly convinced myself he was a goner.
I've noted a few of the posters who claimed he'd agreed terms with Everton. Fake ITK's are hun tier

How about that assist for Eddy, eh? I know it was just Shamrock Rovers, but Tierney's looking sharp.

Genuinely wasn't intended as having a go at anyone, just in case anyone thinks it was. Just a reaction to the 'ITK backlash' that took over the thread for a wee bit. People get told things by good sources. Sometimes what they're told doesn't come to pass.

I have absolutely no specific knowledge of the Tierney situation, but I was chatting to a friend over the weekend who has had plenty of dealings with transfers. His take on it was the situation was entirely driven by agents looking to make money. He explained that it probably unfolded as follows:
1. Agent approaches potential buyer (ie club looking for a LB) and establishes interest and likely outline personal terms. 2. Buying club leaks interest to media to unsettle player. 3. Agent informs current club of likely terms and that player is unsettled and interested in moving. 4. Agent tells player there is interest and club are willing to sell.
Essentially, the agent plays club off against player.
Could be rubbish in this scenario of course, but it seems plausible. My friend suggests the reason it didn’t go anywhere here is that neither Tierney or Celtic blinked. Agents are agents. They just want to make money, eff the client.

It was the “friendship with Neil Lennon” bit that got me thinking Nah, NL just seemed the most obvious name to use. I saw the phrase "the in the knowers", thought it was bollocks patter, and wrote a load of crap on the back of it.
