The InTheKnowers is a new Channel 4 comedy series about 4 online KDS Celtic Da's, who ain't quite cool enough for the Huddleboard, but not quite sad enough for CQN*. The characters are
- Sean: comes from a middle class background. He's less intelligent than he likes to think and spends most of his time wittering on about UEFA coefficients, pointless statistics, and various other bits and pieces that no one else gives a shampoo about.
- Thomas: the 'know it all' of the group, or so he thinks. Constantly invents transfer rumours so that people think he's got contacts at the club. Pretends he's there home and away, week in, week out - when his posting history suggests he's always just at home in front of his computer. Once had a trial with Celtic, but was asked by Henrik Larsson not to come back as he was showing everyone up.
- Peter: The social media addict. Posts relentlessly on Twitter, Facebook, the Forums, everywhere - but usually about Rangers. Obsessed with one particular celtic supporting twitter babe, Bernadette, who he stalks follows closely online.
- Michael: Not the sharpest tool in the box, Michael is the only one who believes Thomas' transfer rumours, and will defend them well beyond the point that the player signs a 10 year contract with Juventus. Constantly teased that he's so slow and gullible that he should be a Rangers fan. Still has a freezer full of ice cream.
Tune in to episode 1 - much hilarity ensues when the Da's travel to Easter Road for a game and Michael forgets the tickets. The Da's suggest to Thomas that he uses his friendship with Neil Lennon to get them into the stadium. But did Thomas really teach Neil Lennon everything he knows about football management through co-op games of Football Manager, as he claims?
*note: no offence to CQN. I just needed another celtic site, and since it couldn't be the prawn sandwich loving KDS, I went for you.

Who claimed he'd agreed terms with Everton? Canny be much of a list.
Yer man who leaks the teams. He's usually spot on with the teams though, so I'm willing to let this one slide.
See to end all of the speculation there was a very simple manoeuvre that would have nipped everything in the bud. Tierney only had to find one tweet on Twitter from a fan saying "Please don't leave Celtic. You are Celtic". There wasn't even a need to RT simply for him to like that tweet. Problem solved. All bets cancelled. mibbe he wiz focused on pre-season and didn't know that pants were gettin hosed awer the internet

Sometimes things come to fruition - sometimes they don't. Terms between Tierney and Everton were sorted. I trust who told me 100%. And please spare me the "but the club didn't give him permission". Since the news was leaked there was some heavy backtracking from Tierney's side. "He doesn't want to leave" "His head is all over the place". It's clear that Everton thought they had Tierney. I think what they didn't reckon on was Celtic looking for significantly more than what they wanted to pay. If you check through the thread you'll see that someone very well informed said Tierney's team then returned to Celtic. If I'm honest I think that a deal at 20 million for the club and 80K for the player would have been agreeable to both parties. It's clear that only one of those conditions were met. You only need look at the club's touting of Dembele in January to see it's a two-way street. Whether it's right or wrong our model is based on shifting on one player for significant sums every couple of seasons. I think it would have suited both Celtic and Tierney if he was next. Oh and I'm far from ITK. There's many snippets about Celtic that if you are prepared to filter out he noise you'll pick up gems from the right people. I'd actually say most of the stuff I've heard I've not passed on purely for the reason I think it reflects negatively on Celtic. “It's clear that Everton thought they had Tierney. I think what they didn't reckon on was Celtic looking for significantly more than what they wanted to pay.“
How could Everton have thought they had him if they hadn’t agreed a fee?

I’m guessing he means terms were agreed, which happens all the time.

I’m guessing he means terms were agreed, which happens all the time. Aye, well terms weren’t agreed with Celtic. So if Everton thought they “had” KT, they’re pretty stupid.

Best solution all round if he stays. He'll have plenty of time to move and if his heart is set on it, tell him he can wait until January.
Had 100% thought he'd be here for the 10 and even thought he'd be here for a long time, like Brown or even Forrest (seem to remember Spurs were supposedly interested in taking him for £10m but he didn't want to move). Can't see the former happening now never mind the latter.
Also a bit disconcerted at the club being either happy or active in the sale of major talent after a couple of years. Understandable if we miss out on the CL but to sell based on the possibility that might happen is arse about tit. Surely we should be trying to give the manager every possible advantage. BR has spoken about miniscule advantages adding up to make the difference.
Well surely selling Tierney and or Dembele would be detrimental to those chances and to our CL prospects if we get there.
Don't know about everyone's finances but I'd be amazed if any teams doing well in Europe weren't carrying some debt (or if they had similar ratio of cash in the bank relative to earnings as we have).

Aye, well terms weren’t agreed with Celtic. So if Everton thought they “had” KT, they’re pretty stupid. We've sold our best players over the past 5 years for fees in the region of £10-12 million with add ons.
Everton probably thought they could get him for £15m.
£25m is alot of money to pay for a 21 year old who plays in Scotland.
We all think it might be a bargain but the way Scottish football is looked at down south then it makes sense why they'd be reluctant to pay that kind of money.

Have I misread this or are you saying Tierney was ready to go if nobody tweeted him saying “please stay”?
He's saying if Tierney was definitely staying he could have stopped the speculation by doing something as simple as liking a tweet saying please stay Aha. Got you.

Aye, well terms weren’t agreed with Celtic. So if Everton thought they “had” KT, they’re pretty stupid. Agents are well aware of the numbers. They have an idea of what the club wants and what their client wants. They inform the potential buyer of what those are. The buyer checks with the accountants, good to go, they approach the selling club and its higher than what they had expected. No deal.

It is possible that Everton are backing off because a bigger fish has entered the game, which may have been Celtic's hope all along.

Why would he though if he was on the verge of leaving I think that’s the point.
